I would suggest that anyone in such a situation take a recording (by audio or even better video if you can sly it!) of the medical examination/questioning just to be on the safe side so that if the report comes back you have hard evidence that that was not what was said during the course of the examination!0

Most EMP's are fine, and write honest reports.
Just be sure that you sign nothing you don't agree with (although some areas have rolled out pilot schemes so that the claimant doesn't have to sign anyway, and it's all done on a laptop).
Have someone with you.
You can always appeal the award, if the medical report does not reflect the true situation.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
go to your GP get a letter saying he cannot attend for safety reasons and ask for a home visit...if you go to see this doctor chances are you will be doomed...:D
Pls be nice to all MSer's
There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
Tomorrow never come's as today is yesterday and tomorrow is today
MERRY CHRISTMAS FELLOW MSer's:xmastree:0 -
I actually don' t think it's terribly helpful to the OP to tell her that the Doctors lie and that her partner's benefit will be stopped.
Surely this is pretty much the exception? Surely most claims are carried out fairly and according to procedure? The Dr can't be blamed if someone doesn't answer the questions properly, can they?
I honestly believe that if you answer the questions about your condition to show your how your condition affects your everyday life then that will be recorded accurately and decided upon accordingly. If someone is unable to speak for themselves for whatever reason then they can have someone to help them.
How is telling the OP all this negative stuff going to help them?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

No, she won't........most EMP examinations are done in the doctors office, and many are no problem at all.
They are reluctant to do home visits unless there is a valid reason.
Most EMP's are honest and truthful - a few aren't, but if they aren't then there is a complaints system through Atos Origin (who supply them).

There is nothing to sign at an IB medical. Maybe you are thinking of a DLA medical report - these used to be signed by the claimant but are no longer now.0 -

You also need to send your complaint to the relevant benefit section, and also with your documents appealing the decision and to your MP.A Fendi Baguette is not a sandwich.....

Unfortunately it's not the exception, and it's not always the case that medicals are conducted fairly-or recorded honestly.A Fendi Baguette is not a sandwich.....
