seven day weekend in toy town where you live and everything is fine and dandy but i can show you 1200 people who have been screwed by incapacity doctors and the sooner cameras are used in interviews the better.
You only have to read so many threads on here people are getting screwed right left and centre why should benefit doctors be any different wake up and smell the coffee this lady has every right to be worried.
Help is whats needed from someone with the same problem, you need your own gp on your side to start with and they can assist you, if no use find out who has an interest in the field you have a problem with thats what i had to do to receive propper care.:A0 -
I've had a examining doctor lie on my form before. I challenged the DWP about it but they weren't in the least bit interested.
I've also been lucky to have met a couple more recently who knew about my condition and I was able to keep my benefits. The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -

All I can say is my husband has never had a problem and it is these peoples' jobs to assess you for what you are entitled to, not to 'diddle' you out of it when you are entitled.
Why should cameras be used? What would they show?
I have seen some posts on here when people say they have been swindled out of their IB when in fact the problem has been that they have not paid enough in National Insurance, so they are not entitled. That's not being ripped off, it's just the DWP applying the rules correctly.
I'm not saying it never happens, but I'm sure it's the minority.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

these day's the dwp are trying to get peeps off ib and back to work whether they can do it or not . they don't care really as long as they can reduce the figures.
AN example of mine:
doctor said: she got on and off the couch with no problems
umm THERE WAS NO COUCH IN THE ROOM so this in itself is a LIE
he wasn't talking about the chair either .
also he said i sat there with no discomfort for the duration of the medical.
in fact i was very uncomfatable and i let him no this and he could see i was in discomfort , yet he dismissed it and LIED on the form
these are just 2, nearly every question he has answered different to what was said, and he has also not put things i explained to him.
i have been incapacitated for 12 years with the same problem and it's not likely to get alot better and is no better than my last medical 5 years ago.
if telling the op about what goes on so they can be prepared then i don't think thats a bad thing.
also it may help others that read the forum.
my advice is to take someone with you and to be honest write down things that have been said.

I have to be honest I side with donnalove, I had an Incapcity Medical, he did lie in places, he just asked me questions from the pc, he just wanted yes and no answers, no explanations. To me he seemed a really nice guy, and he signed me off for 18 months, he said I was mentally ill but physically there was nothing wrong with me
Im not bl**dy mentally ill, I've got fibromyalgia and oestoarthritis, if I appear miserable it's cos I'm in pain! At the time I could see the funny side (if you know what I mean), but this medical report has come back to haunt me, I have tried - and been refused - to claim DLA. So now I am waiting to go to a DLA Tribunal. Yes, I did send in doctor's reports, etc etc but they cant see past what the Incap Doc put on the report. :mad:0 -
Hi denbo snap i have fibro and osteo too same as you, they make out its all in your head the fibro site is full of these cases where doctors will say anything to get you off benefit and back to work.
I was told in fit for work although i have 32 points of fibro pain and osteo in both knees and ankles who is gonna employ someone who cant stand for more than 20 mins and most days has little use in my hands and has to have help dressing every day and the doctor said i was fit for work who is gonna employ me, me who used to be a hotel manager running around 16 hrs a day.0 -
mine was the same donna love exactly lied about a couch and even said i wasnt in pain when he knew i was and ignored what i said thats why cameras need to be used to check what is said and so they can see how able we are.0

I think that seven day weekend is right and the majority of people receive a fair medical and it is only the minority who dont. I am also sure that some people do have a raw deal but that is going to be due to over zealous Doctors who are not fair. A site like this is always going to have many negative stories because people need help, all the positive stories are absent because people are not going to post when everything goes ok.0

Trouble is that the only cases that tend to get posted on forums are those that have gone wrong in some way.
The vast majority go through without too many problems, and the majority of EMP's are honest and truthful.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
morglin do you have an address where you can complain to?
i really do need to complain about the 1 i had, if only to stop him doing the same to others.
