amazon prime help

Yes I guess it is , thank you. However, if they made the same mistake again , then according to Amazon, their policy is that I would have to pay £79.00 again to re-activate it without re-course. Irrespective of the length of time of the contract. In theory this could happen every month without having my original payment refunded fully or even partially. Their stance is if you lose your prime membership by mistake you need to pay £79.00 every time.
That is my main concern.0 -

Except your payment was refunded. So return the Kindle and then enjoy all those free months you had.0 -

coulda woulda shoulda.
Sign up again. As others have said, if you push the issue unnecessarily then you might find your entire household blacklisted from Amazon.0 -
Blacklisted for complaining about a missing parcel from a store ?
What have I done exactly ? Oh right , I asked that they stick to the contract that they have broken. I did not ask for any of this to happen.
I guess the lesson is , don't complain or you will be denied service. Good advice on a consumer forum , last one to leave turn the lights out.0 -

But that concern is unfounded. They have refunded the amount you were debited by mistake, as well as refunding the full amount you paid earlier this year.
If you asked for compensation you are only entitled to what puts you back in the position you would have been in if there was no breach. As it stands without you signing up you have had the previous 9-10 months of prime for free. If you sign back up you have still had the 9-10 months free, with a new membership beginning now. The worst option is giving them back the £54 and your prime ending in April, but you would not be 'worse off'.
Speculating that they might randomly cancel your membership every month without offering a refund it is far from the reality what has happened, and obviously nobody would consider that acceptable.
If however, they refunded your £79.00 every month and you had to pay it back again over and over to start again, I'd reckon most people would be happy with free prime forever!0 -

By your own admission this isn't the first complaint you have made to Amazon. Your original Prime membership had already been extended beyond the January end date to April (that must be three complaints at least).
This begs me to say if the service has been bad enough to result in that many complaints take the refunded money and run!0 -
My point is that they will not refund you , that is not their policy , so no free prime for ever , quite the opposite actually. The warning is that if they turn your prime off , you do not get compensation , you do not get your money back , you have to pay the full amount irrespective of the problem , only by paying the full seventy nine pounds will have you reinstated.
They did not mean to give me any money back . If they had their way , they would have kept the original fifty and the seventy nine too. The only difference is that I could actually use the prime service. I do hope none of you become a victim of the Amazon machine. I didn't receive fair service , every part of the process was due to Amazon customer services , charges , refunds and denial of service.
I asked where my parcel had got to. That is it.0 -

Lol it had crossed my mind. It is also used by my wife a rampant (hold it ) reader who owns a kindle reader. I have to have my goods delivered to work as 5 times in the past two months Amazon cannot find my house (there are 5 buildings on my square and only three are houses.) So you can understand why Amazon struggle so. I enjoyed the prime movies and the kindle hdx is a simple tablet that would suffice my needs , watching my prime movies in bed.
I have had only one prime delivery due on a Sunday actually handed over to me at home (in ten months) I have also had to chase my deliveries around 80% of the 200 plus orders made.
I buy a lot of c.d's. So the free delivery is a bonus and I normally stay very patient.0 -

I offered Amazon the opportunity to keep the £54.00 , they want £79.00 instead. If you think having a contract terminated 5 months early and having to sign a new contract for £79.00 after not receiving your prime service you paid for is 'winning' then I don't know what you think losing is.
All I want is my prime contract honoured. Amazon cancelled the contract instead of extending it.
Sorry but I'm a pedant, you didn't actually pay for it since they refunded the £54.
Did they actually state they were going to reinstate your prime free of charge until April? Or did they just apologise and offer the refund of £54?
I suspect (since they are saying they are unable to reinstate it and you have to by purchasing again) that it was the latter and you have perhaps mistakenly presumed they would reinstate it?
Either way - there has been no loss suffered due to their breach. You're in a better position now than you would have been had they not breached the contract.
To explain, previously you had paid £54 and had 5-6 months left (till april) working out around £9 a month. Now you only need to pay an additional £25, to get 12 months - working out at just over £2 a month. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

.
As a pedant you will understand that by not fulfilling the contract to the end of it's term the refund is a bit of a red herring , so you are not as pedantic as you think.I had paid for a service (not received ) up until the refund. I had paid for the service level to have been met and I had paid for my prime until THEY stopped it.
I am slightly pedantic so the above part makes me think you almost see my point. I entered a contract and abided by it. Amazon have not........... and that is a problem. It isn't just about the money , it is about a company accepting the contract between us , not accidently reimbursing me after charging me accidently after accidently changing a concession to an accidental suspension of the contract. All they have to do is abide by the contract , the minimum I should think we should all expect. Please people stop thinking Amazon are good old boys because they gave me my money back , they admitted that they shouldn't have.An accident (again)0
