As I posted earlier the signs at Keele are very easy to miss, is that a coincidence or a plan? (esmerobbo)

    Are you sure?

Unless it has since been removed or replaced, the sign at 53.59.34.53N, 2.17.22.00W on Google Earth could not be clearer, have a look.

While sitting on a PC with streetview I can see the two large signs cluttered amongst other signs. Coming off a motorway the the signs not being "reflective traffic signs" they could easily be missed.

There are a few signs about I am not disputing that, but there are lots of parts of the carpark that if you miss the entry signs you can park and not pass a sign if you go into the building.

You are looking in the wrong place, the one in my grid reference is white with blue letters and a red boarder. Right at the top in the largest letter it states "" Hours Free Parking", in the backdround is Waitrose. It really could not be clearer.

The sign does not appear to be lit, but the car park is.

In my opinion. the PPC has made every effort to make people aware that, if they wish to stay for longer than 2 hours, they must pay.

It was like 2 in the morning. I did not see ANY signs.. I have kindly asked you already 'The Deep" to stop with your posts as you are not helping anyone, In fact you have now been insulting; by calling me Riff Raff; Or yet again labelled under the same banner.

Who are you to be here preaching to other people because you have some land of your own? Jesus Christ, I know loads of people here with land, bully for you! You feel morally higher than others or some other weird illusion? Heres a good bloody tip, don't want people on your land put up a gate or a fence. Usually car parks have barriers, where you pay on entry. If they don't want people entering and not paying put up a barrier. Its as simple as that. Farmers here put up a fence, no problems with 'Riff Raff' or whatever your reading.

I cant stand smart !!!! folk like you who do nothing but go out your way to defend massive corrupt companies and feel all smug because, "Im a land owner, so were basically pals'. I just read an email explaining how in the last 6 years these companies are turning over almost £180 million from these fines. More than most of us will ever see.

They target places where people go to shop cheaper. (You know, As in poor people, Who go to cheaper stores for food..) They hold functions (at £200 a head) where they laugh and celebrate; over everyone there bumping.. Can I assume you attend these? Paid internet troll here to defend a bunch of criminals?? :D Don't even start on morals mate..

Anyway early morning rant over. Im away to email them now so I can forget about this all together.

I followed streetview from the motorway/dual carriage way into a parking space, and the signs really could be clearer.
The sign does not appear to be lit, but the car park is.

The whole car park isn't flood lit, the signs will likely remain dark, and are unreadable in the light anyway.

In my opinion, and the regulations, the PPC haven't. The signs are the wrong colour, non-reflective, the text is too small.
They've made a token effort so they can claim the signs exist, but they are a long way away from making "every effort". The fact that posters like the OP, who actually used the car park, didn't notice the signs confirms this.

I know you'd love nothing more than people to just pay up, but you really can't claim that [A] the charges are reasonable, and the signs are sufficient to form a contract, or even [C] that this is the best way to avoid parking abuse (that's presumably non-existant anyway, it's not as if you can park there to do anything else).

Are you stupid or deliberately try to provoke? The riff raff to whom I refer are those tenants with two cars who think that it is perfectly acceptable to park their second car in one of my places in my rental properties in Tilehurst.

I shall ignore the rest of your envious ill-considered rant, have a nice day.

You don't refer to them in this thread though, here were talking about someone who overstayed in a motorway services car park. The OP has no idea you've got a problem with tennants with multiple cars. I didn't realising having 2 cars made anyone riff raff though, or is that because they can't afford private parking?
  • Cool story The Deep, You should make a thread about it. :)

Thanks to those who pointed me in the correct direction. Im away to start typing up a response.

As I said, I wasn't here for a riot or an opinion based debate on morals.

Just as well, morality is in short supply on this board.

The best thing for all to do here is to ignore The Deep's trolling.
