Should People Have Children If They Cant Afford Them

Should anyone consider starting a family if they really cannot afford to. People these days think they can have it all, then expect family and friends to finance childcare, buying or renting property or holidays etc.

Well, I have chosen not to have any and I have had my fair share of "Oh, you will change your own / it will be different when its your own / who will look after you when you are old" I have given some blunt answers to the people who come out with the cliche questions!
I would never tell anyone not to have any children, it's not my right. I would not appreciate people preaching to me especially if they are not involved in my life but they think they know better than me by telling me to procreate! So I would not do it to them.0 -

What are you classing as "can't afford" can't afford to feed them? Can't afford to clothe them? Because in this country we have benefits in place to mean that you get help towards the cost of the child. (Might not be much but you certainly can get help) so I don't understand who would be classed as not being able to afford a child. This isn't an attack on the op I'm genuinely asking who you mean.
I have a child and in his 20 months he hasn't cost me half as much as I thought he would

I read the OP to mean, having kids when you can't afford them, i.e. being out of work and expecting the rest of the country to pick up the tab.
If you are working and providing for your family then all well and good, but if you need the country to pay you to do it, then I think you should wait and save a bit of your own money to raise your own childBeen here for a long time and don't often post
