Vodafone not providing NUC

Kbear,
Have you confirmed it is locked by trying another sim?
Sim free Phones bought from Apple DO NOT lock to the same network - If you bought a Network subsidised phone from Apple (they sold these previously right - but I thought it was o2 only) - then i believe like all iphones from CPW they will have locked to the first sim card network.
If you paid approx £500 for your phone from Apple it will be unlocked.0 -
SILK - go and read it - it wasnt bought as a bundle from VODAFONE or APPLE
I bought the phone in the apple store - transaction number 1
I then bought a contract for Vodafone while in the apple store - transaction number 2
Not bundled - two separate teansactions, and the transactions took place on Apple premises.
And fundamentally, it doesnt matter, I've requested something that I am perfectly entitled to and Vodafone are not providing.
I've followed their processes, and they are choosing to ignore.
Receipt from Apple - NOT Vodafone
Silk is making more sense than you.
If you bought the 2 at the same time, odds are good it's been subsidised by the contract you signed at the same time (and therefore locked).
How much did you pay for the phone?
Having said that, it's still Vodafones responsibility to arrange the unlock.====0 -
If you buy an iPhone from Apple on a contract, it will be locked to that network. If you buy an iPhone outright from Apple (i.e., with no contract) it will be unlocked.0

yes,,tried another sim,,the handset is def locked
paid the full apple price for the handset in apple store in cambs at time of purchase.
to be honest,,i do not care about thr whys and wherefores of what happened, my concern now is to get vodafone to provide the code that gets my handset unlocked,,simple as that.
i've followed all the processes, and zip,,i've replied to their social media and zip,
i am frustrated and annoyed by this - to right.
And yes, if i had the money i would buy a new handset, but why should i shell out on a new handset when my current one is perfectly serviceable, and the only thing stopping me using it is a company blocking something they have no entitlement to.
Wonder what they did if everyone turned up at the front door in newbury and camped out on the chief execs doorstep, give them a taste of the what its like to be a vodafone customer0 -
Hi kbear105,

At the risk of repeating myself, there is no code. Apple unlock the device, NOT Voda. Voda will request this but if they don't get a response from Apple, there's not a lot they can do.
And if you paid the full Apple price, then I believe it should never have locked in the first place. Maybe this is why VF are experiencing issues.0 -
I know its bloody apple supplying the code - exactly the same as they suppy it to every other mobile phone company.
But what apple DONT do is supply it to the end user - it HAS to go via the supplier - and every supplier will verify that, (I've asked Voda, O2, EE etc, and all say the same)
As to why the bloody phone is locked, frankly I have no idea, I have reported the circumstances the phone was purchased in, and no amount of stating it should be otherwise will change the fact of how it is.
THE PHONE IS LOCKED, AND i HAVE TO GET THE CODE FROM VODA SO THAT i CAN UNLOCK IT.

Calm yourself down. No need to get so angry at me. I have already said it has to be requested by the network. My point again is that there is no code - repeat, you do not need an actual code. APPLE will unlock it at the request of the network (as I have previously said) but you WILL NOT be supplied with a CODE.
My reason for mentioning this is because if VF have already requested it, it may actually be unlocked, ready for you to complete the process by putting a different SIM in and connecting to iTunes. Might be worth trying. Again, just to clarify, this is not just a case of you putting your SIM in and finding out it is still locked. YOU have to follow a process once Apple have unlocked it at their end in order for it to be useable with another network SIM.
Poor show if it has been unlocked and they haven't told you of course but still worth a try.0 -

There is NO CODE.
Why are you struggling with that simple idea?
Apple phones don't have an unlock code, Vodafone request that Apple send a signal to the phone that switches off the lock.====0 -
