Some cars have actually gone UP in price like the Honda s2000, Toyota Supras and like Justin said, the e39 m5.

Having had £100s and £1,000s spent on them all these years - NOT an investment

Anyway. There'll be no 'mid rev overtaking' in this DC5 - any performance that'll be happening, will be at the top of the rev range. If you don't like revving, go elsewhere. If you like torque, go elsewhere. It's the instant throttle response and handling that should get you into this car.
I had a Celica 190 that was often compared to (and mostly lost to) the Integra. The Integra was that little bit edgier in every respect. That meant that Toyota thought the Celica was OK for UK roads, but Honda didn't launch the Integra here for fear of complaints about it being uncomfortable.
It's meant to be just about the best handling FWD car.
I did find the Celica a bit tiresome at times, always having to have it screaming (and therefore not very comfortable) to get the performance, but Honda's VTEC is more sophisticated than that. You're bound to spin the inside wheel getting out of tight corners if you're heavy on the throttle but any car will understeer if you enter a corner too fast...
  • I've said it before, but it took my E39 M5 by surprise, and gave it a hard time.
It's the power delivery that makes it feel quick, not saying it's quicker than the 335i - but will have to check the power/torque to weight on them.
It's not all about peak figures though, area under the curve is important too.
By the time the 335i has woken up you've surged forward by 20mph in the diesel. That kind of gap takes some clawing back, as I found out in the M5.
Both would be embarrassed by a 98 Corolla though ;)

You might have a chance of keeping up if you remove the rear brakes! Not all cars need them apparently

I'm definitely want to move back into the JDM scene. I have driven the s2000 before and genuinely found hat engine exhilarating in spite of that fact that all the power was up up high and it isn't as torquey as a in-line 6 or a V8.

I am going to view and test drive an Integra DC5 this Saturday and see how it differs from the s2000 and make a judgement from there

Don't ever recall a chav driving a Honda here in the UK. They normally drive their crappy Ford Fiesta or Vauxhalls. Maybe a French car if they want to be different

Are you even in the UK?
  • Oh no, here we go again. You must think we have very short memories, or do you believe everyone gets banned every couple of weeks and all their posts deleted?

When you returned as Hyperxr - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/member.php?u=2340043

You told us all the M3 was a fantasy and that you were actually driving your dad's 98 Corolla. The A3 was also a myth. Sadly it seems the post where you stated 'I am Darkmatter101' has been deleted by the mods but we're not all forgetful...

    Get a grip chum.

    that was my fave

Just, wow. Who drives all those loud Mk 4 Type R Civics (and worse, Type S) badly then? They look like chavs to me.
I actually like those cars but their image puts me off, and I don't really care about image!
