  • Dunno if people are still using restaurant.com (I'm so out of touch!) but Living Social are doing a $200 gift vouchers for $40

Any opinions on whether this is worth it or are the r.com codes likely to be a better deal? We've stil got $50 at El Segundo Sol from two years ago, love that they don't expire!

Las Vegas sign i never knew somone could do that, is that easy to do/safe?

what was your buffets experince like? i have started playing the myvegas game on facebook and looking at the different buffet options(we tried 3 different hotel buffets last time, 3 times at the mgm, 1x monte carlo and 1x wynn)

It is as safe as walking on the pavement. Sidewalk on the strip leads straight to it. However you do have to jaywalk to get to the middle. But as it is a long road you can see when it is clear to cross. Didn't take long to walk it from our hotel. If you want you can take the bus (both Deuce and SDX stops at Mandalay Bay) to the last stop and then walk the rest.

Buffet wise - I research so much on them and decided on three different ones - Aria, Mirage and Bellagio. All were lovely. The Aria And Bellagio lets any MLife member go in the special queue whilst the Mirage it is the next level up from Sapphire. However the Mirage is the cheapest and includes alcohol. My partner who is fussy found something in all three to eat. I did the BOGOF option as getting two free cost a lot of LPs and we could afford to pay a buffet each time. Plus it meant I could charge it to my room as it was a MGM hotel.

I would be careful - if it's what I think it is, you won't have access to all the vouchers - it's a sort of side-site you go to. All I remember is that when Stripburger was available on the main site, it was not always available on this other off-shoot site and it was annoying.

TBH we haven't really used them much lately...a lot of the restaurants we used to like are no longer offered and with so many places we love we just found that we were carting the vouchers to Vegas and back over and over. Maybe I should have a look again, but Stripburger is the only one we have used for a few years.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Thanks - I shall give it a miss then!

We tried Stripburger last time with a voucher but we weren't that impressed - think maybe our expectations were too high. We also used a voucher for Slice of Vegas and loved it there. As we've still got the El Segundo Sol one, that might do it for us - looking at the listing, there aren't many places on Strip that I fancy and I'm afraid that I'm too lazy to travel ;)

Is that definite? I didn't know that. I've stood in the queue at Bellagio a few times, and it never occurred to me that any MLife member could just go in the special queue.

We're hoping to do Bellagio and Mandalay Bay buffets with our MyVegas points. Unfortunately the 2xdinners at Mandalay Bay for 92,000 points (stay required) seems to have disappeared!! Anyone know if this sometimes happens then it comes back? I'm thinking it would just say 'sold out' if it was sold out.

lol dont be too attached to having a manual... you dont even change gear for the 0-60 part of the challenge :rotfl: think i got into 3rd for the top speed part :D

they did threaten to be having the new Dodge Viper soon as when it comes out it will be fastest US production car, so that may still be on the horizon :)

they were also talking about dropping the 500 as people (well, Americans generally) kept screwing up the gearbox cos they didn't know how to do manuals so spent a lot of time being prepared!

Yip as I only sign up last week so was at the bottom tier - Sapphire - whilst out there and went into the special queue. The two queues merged once you pay but it's not long after that. The Mirage was the only one that stated the level of MLife at the front of the queue. We went around 17:30 and by the time we left around 19:00 the normal queue at The Bellagio was almost past the special barriers into the casino.
