  • Finally got around to reserving our hotels - thanks Stuie for the 0161 number :)

Ended up with five nights at Monte Carlo followed by six at Excalibur. I'll be honest, Excal is one of the last places I'd have considered if we were paying but I'll give it a whirl - I've heard some very good things about it recently so we'll see.

My comped offer of one night 'with a two night stay' turned out to be BOGO rather than buy two - so that was nice! We've reserved three comped nights at MC between us, then paying $59 for one night and then I've redeemed a My Vegas reward for the fifth. Then four nights comped, one paid for ($34) and one My Vegas at Excalibur.

It's looking like a very cheap do this time around - including the flights, taxes, resort fees we're looking at about £350 each for 11 nights. All the more to gamble with - which suits MLife and us :)

    Aah getting so excited now!!

I am gonna be in Vegas for just one night in the summer whilst passing through on a road trip. After umm-ing and ahh-ing for a while about where to stay I've decided on the Flamingo.

Booked a GO Luxury (Strip View) room for Thursday 4th June. Including taxes the room came to $71.63 and then the resort fee of $27.97 makes it just under $100 in total.

I could've got a FAB Deluxe room for a fair bit less but I thought if we're only there for one night might as well pay a bit more for a better room. Hopefully we will have a nice view of the Bellagio fountains.

Excal is OK, although I haven't stayed there, like to gamble in there, and we used there pool back in 2013 when luxor closed there pools early for the launch of the Jabba's :)
I do like the Excal Pool!

Like you Winter, our trip is done on offers! (5 - 4 - 2)
5 Nights at the Mirage with myVegas (we still got 4 rewards each)
2 Wkend Nights comp'd at Luxor with Mlife
    1 Comp night at Luxor
1 reduced night rate of $45+tax at Luxor
2 Nights comp'd at Monte Carlo.

I have no intention of paying the resort fee's, so hopefully our hotel bill will be £17 each for the 11 nights!!! :)
I like to gamble, and the missis loves Starbucks & slots, so should be able to use the mlife desks to keep those nasty resort fees away!

At the flamingo now just woke up on first morning, got an upgrade from our fab room to a large fab room on 27th floor, not much of an upgrade but better than nothing, really wanted a go room but hey ho..

Another vote for alamobrits and checking in online, walked straight to line of cars, tried for an upgrade and was pointed to a car that wasn't in the line and had just come in, so got a brand new Dodge Charger with only 4 miles on clock, the Alamo cars are a def improvement over what dollar usually have on offer

If you want a fountain view you are best to get a high floor overlooking the Cromwell and a room towards the front of the hotel, rather than overlooking the strip, if you are looking over the strip you have to be against the glass and look left rather than just being able to sit and watch them,
    Edit
Forgot to say the sonny and Marie poster covers the fron of the hotel imo that's another reason not to want to be that side of the hotel

I'm doing the same trip soon.

What would you recommend as the best things to do in each city?
  • Been ill the last few days, so have not done the research I was hoping to do.

Very interested in your view of SF Yinster, especially timeframe and hotel.
