Excal is OK, although I haven't stayed there, like to gamble in there, and we used there pool back in 2013 when luxor closed there pools early for the launch of the Jabba's
I do like the Excal Pool!
Like you Winter, our trip is done on offers! (5 - 4 - 2)
5 Nights at the Mirage with myVegas (we still got 4 rewards each)
2 Wkend Nights comp'd at Luxor with Mlife
1 Comp night at Luxor
1 reduced night rate of $45+tax at Luxor
2 Nights comp'd at Monte Carlo.
I have no intention of paying the resort fee's, so hopefully our hotel bill will be £17 each for the 11 nights!!!
I like to gamble, and the missis loves Starbucks & slots, so should be able to use the mlife desks to keep those nasty resort fees away!
Cheers :-) We've only ever passed through Excalibur but when I looked I thought the pool area looked pretty good. After the Vdara last trip I really wanted to stay somewhere with a bigger pool this time, that's why we started looking at Monte.
How do you go about getting the resort fees waived? This'll be our first time without pre-paying through a third party. Last time I got about $20 knocked off our room charges using the express comps I'd earned but the resort fees were already settled before we even arrived"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Don't take the first quote. Contact other agents and ask them if they can better it. So getting them to work against each other. Also we did check the same details to see if we could D.I.Y ourselves but the agents were much cheaper. It is what we did and saved a lot. Also it will depend on whether there is a huge conference(s) or convention(s) in town that week. Looking online quickly there is a couple of big ones for the week you are wanted. I know one week in May there is a huge fight in Vegas which mean all rooms are more expensive than normal.
Thank you for the response!
Well we've checked quite a few but I found expedia to be the cheapest.
So you say booking direct with the hotel isn't a cheaper option?0 -

When we did our quotes contacting the hotel wasn't cheaper. However you should contact the hotel and ask anyway. As for the agents I personally email them in the contact us section with the quote and ask what they can do so I would get someone replying back to me. You might find what the website quote is different from what a rep will quote.
We eventually went with Netflights who we used a number of times before as they were cheaper. Though someone from flight centre came back saying they would do it a £1 per person cheaper just to beat it even though they would then work at a loss. However we had to pay the whole amount at that moment.Wins in 2015

I think it depends on a number of factors and you'll never know unless you check various options...just remember that rooms will be priced on double-occupancy when booking direct and usually per person via UK agents and be sure you are comparing the same thing.
March is one of the busier times in Vegas but there are always spikes at what may seem to be odd times due to the conventions mentioned, some concerts and sporting events, etc. will also drive prices up.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Winter,
to get resort fee's knocked off, our plan is to gamble as usual, but where as the wife spends X amount on slots, i'll throw down a few hundred on the tables, play a few nice hands to get pit boss attention, switch to minimum hand, cash out (presuming I won), exchange for cash, or put chips in my pocket and goto another table and put cash down....
As far as I know, they see cash go down on the table, they write stuff in there pad, etc...
I always do $100 bills into slots and play max bet ($2.70 or $3.50, etc)...
So with that, my mlife should show so action, enough to keep the resort fee's away...
In the monte carlo last year, we had pre-paid via a UK (lowcostusa) for 5 nights in a normal room, blagged a deal to upgrade to a spa suite for the 5 nights at $30 + tax per night....
Went to Mlife desk at checkout, got the charges removed
So am hoping to get the same with regards to the Resort fee!.0 -
Whose done this ? I cant remember who has, just know 1 of u has done it!
Looking at it myself, as not hiring a V8 muscle car from Hertz this year, so need my kicks elsewhere!
Showing as $124 for the Muscle car challenge at the mo which ain't too bad, but what I need to know is:
Do you drive all 3 cars ? (am guessing you do)
And how long are you on site for ? Asking that as need to figure out if to leave the missis by the pool or drag her along to this!0 -

I bought this for hubs for Christmas - yes you do get to drive all three cars. I had an email mid Jan to say that the Mustang GT500 has been replaced with a Mustang GT350 (don't know if they've updated their website to state this).
He's booked in for 12pm so will be picked up from Excalibur at 10:45am - the experience lasts around 2 hours so I'm anticipating being back at the hotel for around 3:30pm. I'm going to go along with him - I don't fancy doing any driving but I like watching motorsport and figure it'll be nice to see the circuit etc. Might be a long day if Mrs Stuie isn't interested though?
Thanks for the resort fee info. Will try and see what happens! We only play slots but will see what we can do!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"
