Thanks for that. We don't really gamble - will have a go on some cheap slots or something, but not really interested in that. Will do some shopping, certainly, but mainly sight seeing and not sure if we'll use the pool as only staying 3 nights.
Vdara is a little bit more, so might that be a slightly better option, location-wise?
Vdara is a lovely hotel - we stayed there two years ago. The location is excellent - it's connected to Bellagio and there's a tram to Aria/Monte Carlo/Excalibur/Luxor. I'd say it's pretty much ideal if you want a non-gaming hotel. The only negative is that the pool is very small"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Hey guys, might be useful to some:
Doing my checks for our upcoming trip, I just noticed car rentals with Dollar are looking pretty good, so if u are doing a car this year, maybe worth checking the rentals at the mo!
And despite vowing never to use Dollar again after last year (cos they put an AUTH on my prepaid card for $300, given I had pre-paid for everything inc fuel, so they couldn't bill my card anyway!)
, after seeing this deal, decided to bite the bullet
Mine is 1 way booking for the week, as doing LAS to LAX....
Previously, a 2dr Full size with USrentacar.co.uk had been £141 without fuel, and £171 with fuel....
Today, it is £141 without fuel, and £143 with fuel !!!! (& Xtra drivers)...
So I just booked.. Usual plan will be to tip the garage guy $10 or $20 to get upgrade to Luxury class like I did last year
And yes, Usrentacar link my DE account with the booking, so no front desk queues
Thanks. Have you, or anyone else, used this company before?0 -
usrentacar ??
I been using them since 2007
Only time I used Alamo brits was back in 2013 as there website was doing Mustangs converts for less than econ car prices with fuel!
And I use Hertz when I want to upgrade to a V8 muscle car..
I highly recommend Usrentacar, highly....
Main cars I see them do are: Dollar / Alamo0 -
Also,
Although specific to me, doing 1 way rental from LAX to LAS for 1 day, original plan was to use Hertz (were 5*), book normal car, and then upgrade to a muscle car for $40 extra (on top of the £35) + fuel....
Option I see at the mo (which I did back in 2011), with Netflights...
1 way rental with Alamo/National , costs say £28 for a fullsize car...
Add tank of fuel to booking = £8.72
The 280 mile drive is defo gonna use more than £8.72 worth of fuel!!!
Problem I got now is, do I book normal full size car, and hope I can blag an upgrade to a super nice car for say $10 / $20..
or...
Book Standard SUV, and hope to blag a Fullsize/Prem for $10 / $20 !
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !0 -
I've used USRentaCar for Florida before - all went fine...
Only thing I recall, is there is something funny with their cancellation policy (think it's one of those where you pay a bit extra if you want the ability to cancel) - but that could still work out cheaper if they still do that0 -
yeah, they have that as an extra, £5 for a week or something like that....0

I'm hating folowing this thread right now because our trip is looking dodgy. My health issues are making it difficult, but I personally don't feel "that bad" that I would need to not enjoy our Vegas trip. I was worse (my opinion) early last year, and still had a good time.
Lots of hospital visits and consultations in my immediate future. Another choice is to go off piste and hope for the best.0 -
pebbles, I hope you get well and enjoy your next trip0
