Joined VIP club and have the extra coupons that way. Is there anywhere to view the "normal" coupons in the "passport of savings book"?
  • So... another question regarding the Dublin flights,

Is it possible (so i don't need to spend on ryanair luggage) to check in the luggage for the virgin flight from LGW before doing the first flight from Dublin..

I leave LGW at 1755 on the Monday to Dublin, my flight is from Dublin at 0700 on Tuesday and the virgin flight is at 1100. So theoretically could i take the luggage to virgin on the Monday at 1500 as its within the 24 hours or does it need to be on the first flight?

£387 for the inconvenience of flying to Dublin first = waaaaaaaay better than paying the £550 I was gonna pay to fly with Westjet (1stop flight).....
Still gotta wait till Monday/Tues for the evil wife to give me an answer as to whether I can book it...
It will be booked with Lastminute.com (£327 is there price)
on that note, how does this work:
Crikey man, you sound like a right PITA. Your wife might be looking at divorce before you do.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • Right I checked the dates I wanted for next year (still can't book as holidays not confirmed) direct with TC from Manchester for a cheapish hotel gone up from £1600 to £1800 in a couple of weeks!
Checked Dublin prices Dublin to Gatwick then Virgin direct to Vegas £900!!
    That is for 2 people!
Gonna see when hols will be confirmed tomorrow.

(foot ferry passenger one way uk to Dublin are about £30 per passenger - Bewleys / Clayton hotel near airport about €99 - this is comparable to what we would spend by going to Manchester airport previous night anyway)

Unless you live very easy distance of Holyhead then a regional flight to Dubin isn't likely to be as much as thirty per person (although you'll need to add the baggage charge).

No because Virgin twilight check-in opens at 5pm -so youd be cutting it a bit fine to then get through security and to your gate in time. If you were catching a later flight it would work- alternatively leave the bags at Gatwick left luggage and pick them up and check them in as soon as you return to Gatwick. Only issue would be if your DUB LGW was delayed and you didnt have time to do this ....

Best option would probably be to make sure you are first at the Twilight check in desk and hope there are no big lines at security -if there are - make sure you have your running shoes on !! Murphy's law dictates you are bound to be departing from one of the distant gates !!

I must admit whenever I've done ex Euro (I've done Dublin a few times and also Gothenburg) I travel hand baggage only on the way out and use left luggage or have the overnight at London so I can eave my bag at the hotel before flying to Dublin. It's amazing how much you can fit into the VS/BA cabin allowances if you pack carefully !

Although you can check in on-line 24 hours ahead you can't usually check bags in until the day of travel -VS Twilight check in is very much an exception to the norm

When I've flown this DUB-LGW-LAS flight in the past with Virgin I've got off the aer lingus flight and followed connecting flights to departure so always staying airside. Maybe you can just go to bag drop land side and go through security again but I'd double check

I don't need to double check thanks - I've done it several times :)

As you can have up to 24 hours between the DUB LGW and the LGW LAS a lot of people leave the airport completely for a hotel for the night (or even go home :) )

There is absolutely nothing to say you have to stay airside if it doesn't suit. Checking bags at sector 2 is no problem - you just have to fly from sector one - your bags don't have to.

Same incidentally works in the US say LHR ORD LAS you can exit through security and hop a train to downtown Chicago if you want to (and have the time)- and no one will bat an eyelid
