Just planning my trip for next year and we will be flying out to SF and then travel by car to LV. Some previous posts have helped me decide to stay over in Yosemite Park and also Death Valley on the way. Can anyone remind me what trip reports to look over on the front page to help me with the planning? Thanks.
    Thank you all who post.

In addition to reading the text reports, episodes 10 to 15 (days 6 to 15) of this video playlist would be well worth watching IMHO:

The Southwest USA Thread will be useful here

It has trip reports of people who have actually been there and not just looked at you Tube

I too am a planner bobbyhibs. However, we have no control over myvegas or the rewards.

My strategy, with a May trip planned, is just to keep playing generally, and pick the best rewards available within the redemption period

Sometimes a reward you hadn't even considered pops up.
We had a gorgeous day at Red Rock Hotel with a cabana bed (like a massive padded sun bed for 4 people with curtains for shade and privacy if wanted.).

I bought t thinking we'd probably end up cashing it back but it was worth every chip.

The lp's are still on my daily spin, landed on the 250 today, so got 2000 lps
They are still on my mobile game because I have location services disabled, but they have gone from my other game. They come back when I log in in Spain.

Right then guys, quick advice needed, from those who have done it or read about it..... Although I read some stuff, looking for more info:

"Missing the final leg of your flight to save money"

I can see a deal at the mo which is dam right awesome, and so cheap, the wife shouldn't be able to stop me booking this! :D

The flight leaves Dublin via 'Aer Lingus' (BA Codeshare) for Gatwick, and then you fly direct with 'Virgin' to Vegas......

The return leg flies 'Virgin' to Gatwick, then 2hrs later, final leg to Dublin via 'Aer Lingus' (BA Codeshare)...

My guess is, as its totally different airlines, if I book this flight, on the return leg to Gatwick, we would have to collect our bags in GATWICK and then "if we wanted to", go and do bag drop for our bags to goto Dublin......
But of course, we would collect our bags and go home once landed in Gatwick.....
If this can work, think I will book the flights.... Because at £330 return, + £60 to get to Dublin = No Brainer.......

I've done this but to NY. If I did not get reward seats I'd be doing it again :) Make sure the flight makes you collect your luggage and transfer yourself to the other airport. For example you land at gatwick from vegas and you have to transfer at your own expense (aka going home) ;) from heathrow for your Ireland flight. This way, you get your luggage no questions asked -now book it :D

am looking at it right now...
DUB-LAS via LGW (Aer Lingus , then Virgin)
    The return flight is:
LAS-DUB, but we land at LGW, then a 3hr window to get to LHR, and fly LHR-DUB with Aer Lingus...

Surely that must mean collecting my luggage in LGW and yeah, driving straight home....
Price is £327 for the above, I need to book it!!!!! just trying to grab that last bit of info to assure myself I can collect our bags in LGW!
