We always stay at the Platinum, have done since the place opened and we had a contact there called Claire, British girl now working the front desk at Cosmo, she started giving us really good rates and free upgrades. Now we have Derek, a very nice guy from Wisconsin that is director of operations. We have put a few people on this forum onto him, and he always gives them the same good rates as us. I have also put a few guys from Flyertalk onto him and they have all seemed well pleased. I guess the proof of the pudding is that most if not all that have stayed there go back again and again.
We have "been there and done that" with most of the hotels on the strip and just really like the relaxed atmosphere and sheer space you get at the Plat. A typical LV strip hotel room is probably 340-440 sq. ft. The suites at the Plat. are 900-1200 sq. ft. with balcony. If anyone wants to try the place on their next trip DM me and I will put you in touch with Derek.

Anyway, we were picked up by the hotel at the airport and 15 minutes later we were checked in and in our room. Very surprised to find this waiting for us

So put the clothes away, shower and spend the next couple of hours in the Tuscany drinking and gambling, then a couple of Pizzas from 7/11 and bed.

Woke up about 7 next morning, I think we did our first 6 mile run out to the railway line and back but cant be sure. Anyway had to pick the car up from TI so on the way stopped off at Fashion Show to buy 2 Apple watches (as you do). They are £70 cheaper in the US so a saving of £140
This is my watch, I used it to record when I took the car back in case they said I brought it back late

Picked the car up no problems even though I forgot my voucher, they found me on the system and no attempt at the hard sell.
Went to Walmart and the bank, spent over $350 in Walmart!!
First night is always Palazzo now, we won big there last trip mainly on the Dragons Law/Voyage etc games. Tonite they made a valiant attempt at getting it all back!
Tracy in Palazzo. (She scrubs up well)

Next morning either the run or breakfact on the balcony
Breakfast set out on our 17th floor mountain view room
    balcony.jpg
More shopping then pool followed by evening consisting of walking to Cromwell, then Bellagio, then Cosmo there they do the most fab cocktails at Bond bar, of course free if playing max credits on the bar top video poker machine.

OK getting late, will continue this tomorrow

Thanks stoneman for the start of your TR.

I have 2 questions for the board and or Stoneman.

We are going with our 21 year old son next june and to keep costs down are sharing a room.

hoping to get an upgrade to 1600 sq ft suite at Rio where he can have the lounge are and we get a bedroom for the first 5 nights.

we have provisionally booked a one bed suite at Marrioot Grand Chateau for last 4 nights for around $420 so again would give him and us some privacy.

    Question time

1.Has anyone stayed at Grand Chateau

    2. Is there any rooms at Platinum that would work for us
    cheers

    1. No.

    2. We haven't stayed at Platinum yet, but will be doing so next month. From the guided tour we had last year, I'm sure there will be something to suit you better than Rio. The Solitaire suite we have reserved has a separate bedroom. There are a few videos on youtube for you to have a look at what is on offer.

Stoneman will probably answer 2. much better than that.

    thanks

we like the Rio if we can get the masquarade suite,

dont want to do 2 non casino places ie platinum and grand chateau especially since we have never stayed in a non casino hotel before.
Not even sure we want to do one, just looking for a good option in room size for the 3 of us

Photome - I think Carriage House have sofa beds and separate bedrooms from recollection. Not far from PH but the pool (in my opinion) is pretty naff :/

Don't know the name, but it has flavoured foam on the top. Lots of the cocktails at the Bond bar in Cosmo are made like that.

The Princess suite would work. It's 1200 sq. ft, separate bedroom and a pull out sofa bed in the lounge. I recon you coud get one for about $110-$130 a night. PM me if you are interested and I will introduce you to Derek
