I do think you need to be careful as it is easy to get carried away chasing comps with a value far below your losses.
I think of comps as a bonus rather than something to chase "earning". It helps to know how it works - but sometimes a little knowledge can be dangerous
hi
and i agree with you!
I can only speak for myself, But up until maybe late last year i did not know comps were avaiable,I sorta only learned they may be avaiable upon reading this site!
i can say i dont play for comps or anything, but if some could come my way great!
So recently i have asked about them, on the forum and gotten some feedback , but will that change my play?
more than likely no.
I guess i gamble, to try make money, and i do enjoy it if i dont win(not so much)
I dont drink, smoke and do not do drugs, so i guess i have to have a sin in life, so alone with takeaways, i guess my other sin in like is gambling, though i do set my self budgets, and stick to them pretty much0 -
We hardly gamble at all, mostly just play for a laugh.
We never receive any offers etc.
Our view is that:
1) The choice of where we stay is down to us.
2) The choice of room we decide to stay is down to us.
3) The quality of the room against the cost can be amazing value.0 -
We fly out tomorrow as part of our 3 week trip. Don't get to Vegas till the beginning of August. At the moment I'm full of cold and can't be bothered to move. I'm dreading getting on the plane to LA tomorrow. Any tips for feeling better on the flight?!0

Yeah some on here (not mentioning any names) seem obsessed with chasing the comps, then gets agrieved when it doesn't result in much.
Comps are pathetic in Vegas now anyway.
Last time I had a host at a !!!!!! property I was playing craps for 7 nights, 2-3 hours a night, average bet $50-$100, went to see him the last night to see what I could get and he said nothing, even when I told him to get my slips out and look at them.
I no longer give my players card in when playing the tables at any casino. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Are there alot of * !!!!!! properties*:D
Im not surprised you dont hand over your card no more when you spent that amount of time and money.
I was just curious in respect of comps, how they worked and what not.I can say for myself that i have never played for comps.just i saw a few posters sya on here they got comps, and wondered what they were and how they got them.0 -

Players cards are for slot machines. That is where the profit is for the casino. Table games (except for roulette) require player input that can effect the outcome so the house edge is lower IE you have more of a chance of winning.
House edge is around 5%-12% for slots depending on the denomination you play.
Black Jack has a house edge of around 1.4% if you play perfect strategy.
You can see why the casino would rather you play slots, so you accumulate more points that way.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. I have a restaurant.com question....I haven't used them for a while so have logged into my account and I have a few that I purchased a while ago and gives me the option to exchange certificate. Does this mean that the restaurant no longer accepts r.com vouchers?
There is Casa Di Amore, Stripburger, Slice of Vegas (which is the one I want to use) and a few others.
Thank you.
Yes, I think it does...sadly.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I've always found comps to be really random.
Last trip in March we stayed at the Mirage at a discounted rate and lost about $1,100 in 3 days according to my player account - on check out they credited my account with $300 after stopping by the MLife desk.
They also waived our resort fee as WiFi was poor, meant our Tower King Room and F&B was covered from the Mirage. Since then no other offers whatsoever.
I also lost a similar amount in a weekend at the Mirage once before and they did the same.
Best advice, is to sign up for CET and use their reservation calendar to view rates. I have never had a offer but stay at CP for free when booking through the rate calendar. Cosmo are also pretty good with comps.0 -

Ok thanx for the info.
I view gambling as luck for the most part, I can see where the house edge comes in though.,
thanks for the response0
