  • OCC the eBay hate was what stopped me a little while ago. Maybe time will help heal you :D

I'm well and part time is lovely. Because it is a temp. three month trial and I am now preggers we are umming and arring about me going back full time after the three months to benefit from the higher maternity pay. Still undecided if it is worth the potential stress. It's only since knowing I was reducing hours and now reducing that I've realised how stressed I was.

So pleased Mr OCCs back. I remember my sister as a child being a nightmare when my dad travelled with work. She is now in her 20's and is very well behaved when he goes away :rotfl: I was probably more like mini occ and would talk my Mam to death and try stay up late.

Good luck thinking of ways to make money on the side, let us know!

I know I think time might heal my eBay hatred. People as such messers that's what got me.

It must be tempting to go back full time for a couple of months, then again you don't want a stressful pregnancy. Would knowing you are going to be off for 10 months + lessen the stress levels?

MiniOCC as so grumpy tonight, he can't wait to have his dad back.

I don't know if any teachers are reading my posts but he's really struggling reading books where the writing is on a coloured background. I've never heard of that before, more the other way around. His reading is okay (for a boy distracted by anything going) and is on turquoise level which if on a plain white background he reads very easily but of on a coloured or patterned background he struggles.

If it makes any difference he struggle with his writing too and uses a pencil grip and a slope to assist (both have really helped) Any advise welcome on this could they be linked? I'd asked his teacher last year who seemed flummoxed by it but introduced the slope which has helped so :j to her.

Just a thought, can you get an acetate reading ruler in white-I know you can get them in various different colours. do you think one of those might help him with his reading?

That's worth a try. I'll give anything a try. It's really the light yellow and pale green that seem to really effect him. He couldnt seem to read a thing on the mint green background tonight. It's strange.

I have to admit, I struggle to read things on certain coloured backgrounds, certain shades make the text more difficult to read.

  • That's exactly what it does it's called on trees and is made by money supermarket. I've got it on my iPhone so perhaps look in the iPhone rather than iPad apps.

Just had a look at on trees and am suitably impressed, especially as i have loads of accounts!

That would make a lot of sense to me, most website seem to say that green and yellow are good colours as backgrounds. I've heard that many people find it easier on a pink background. I might try printing some sentences on some coloured paper to try it out.

Yes it seems a good idea especially for those accounts thou don't have to check often. I still need to link a couple of my accounts but so far so good.

I have been assigning transactions to the catagories and it's interesting reading. I save & overpay a lot and spend very little on myself!

    colour blind?

My husband can't do red green - so on any combination of the two he can't read a thing.

Nor can he see those two colours if they are faint. Which makes for interesting european driving because the KMH is all in red on black. He has no idea how fast he's going.

Fortunately I am there to keep telling him :)

That is another thought I've had in the past, I'm thinking definately print some tests.

my dad has colour blindness but also has another eye condition (foulks syndrome) so may be more to do with that, we also have dyslexia in the immediate family and very bad sight although I think it's unlikely to be any of these more serious options. He has been sight tested at school and it came back perfect but maybe further checks down that route just in case too.
