  • Okay I've had such a bad MSE week. Currently have 2 plumbers trying to stop my tank leaking. Grrrrr.

Need to have about 3k's work done on the plumbing but decided to do the solar first. Well that's come back to bite me on grad backside as I'm now gonna have to fork out £200 for a new tank to use for a couple of months till we get it properly sorted.

Have t got enough in contingency after the solar to do the plumbing as it would leave us with nowt which I'm jot happy with.

    Friday 13th grrrrrr.
  • Oh Friday 13th.

Can't do temp option so will be without hot water for a few weeks then it's about 3-4 k to get the heating sorted.

So it's going to be a serious MSE couple of months and very limited OP's

That's a bit of a setback, or you could say a unexpected leap forward in our plans!
  • What a rubbish day for you! These things are sent to try us. What will you do without water? Do you have a friends house nearby? We had 4 weeks without a bath/shower when we first bought our house when the floor board fell in. We used showers at the gym and at work etc to get by but it was hard work.

I hope some good news comes your way soon to balance today out.

  • I think its more of a Will power problem than a financial one. We all want to be mortgage free but do we have the will power to actually do that. We always waste our money on other things and then it all comes down to square one.
  • It's called food planner and it's free at the moment :-)

    Thank you for that x

Thanks CT we have an electric shower, dishwasher and the cold water is just fine so we will easily manage. I'm saying that now on day 1!

It's more annoying than anything as I didn't want to spend the money and have the upheaval until late in the year.
  • Well thanks to CT for the encouragement that's very nice of you. Others if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it! I don't get the motivation of trolls online making people feel bad about themselves. Personally this will never ever effect me so flip off.

On a better note I'm menu planning for next week, choose our meals and have a shopping list and am going to get the items required. Might need to get some fruit/veg or some milk later in the middle of the week.

Saw a breadmaker on gumtree so gonna get that tomorrow. £20 and has a gluten free setting :-)

As long as you have a dishwasher you'll be fine :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Pleased to hear that. I did wonder how you were going to manage it with little one. Thank goodness for electric appliances!

  • We do have a dishwasher but never normally use it. Just been on for the first time in 6 months and worked a treat!
