Sounds like your little one has had a great time, shame you couldn't enjoy Asia as much as you were working though! Just a thought having read about his reading difficulties, reminds me of Irlens Syndrome, a person I know with it has a coloured piece of paper (think it's yellow) and this makes it much easier for them to read! Depending on the person different colour overlays can be helpful! Though it could also just be he is young!

I am definately going to look into FC again, seems like a good idea from your posts! Your still doing an amazing job with your OPs!

Just wanted to find this post from ages ago and confirm jodles you were 100% correct, miniocc had irlens syndrome confirmed today :) glasses lenses ordered grandparents paid for them :)

FC is going well clarey 1 default being repaid although slowly. Not adding loads I just a few £££ here and there. Up to about £500 now loaned I plan to get to about £1000 and leave it at that.

Sounds like a good balance, I am aiming for the same, (after factoring in OPs, Isa, Christmas fund etc). Just need to remember to keep some back to actually live on!

  • A great weekend, the BF won his footie bet with the Man U fa cup win. £200 to the guttering fund :) currently I have £1000 on one side instant access , actually £1200 now! I also had a couple of reg savers going which will mature over the winter but im still hoping not to touch them, it's still a long way to go as the quote was £3500!!!

    Balance stands at £120,460

Capital Reduction £1320 (under my £1333.33 target but so close)

OP's this month £739.57 which is excellent and better than expected.

    Interest paid this month £240.40
    Interest paid May 2015 £300.74
£60.34 Less interest paid in 2016 I really don't know how it is this much

Daily interest is now £8.02 7p less than last month

    ST savings increased by £474.53
    LT savings increased by £879.10
School/Annual Bills Savings increased by £512.80
Total increase in savings £1866.43 (another good month)

Next month I am aiming for £600 OP target again plus the FIT payment.

Have opened a 3rd regular saver to see if I can add to that too. I'm adding £200 per month additional drawings to it.

I am extremely happy with this month. I didn't expect this to be a good month.

We have had a few days away camping and the tent is finally dead. Long live the signas 6 you served us well. We have decided that a caravan will be the next purchase so have been looking around but haven't found anything suitable yet. the camping trip was with school friends but it was friends of theres and friends of theres so all together I counted about 40 of the kids at the school there at one point or another. That is over 30% of the school! Mini was very independent cycling with the older kids. also it was evident that he needs a new bike too. Got to know a good few parents at the school too which was very nice.

Ooh, super close to 119s!! Well done on the big OP and increased savings too.
  • Ooh, super close to 119s!! Well done on the big OP and increased savings too.

Next month one part of the mortgage will go below 30k and the total will go below 120k

I have also been monitoring percentage of FIRE savings target which is £500000 savings/investments and it is slowly increasing and is now 6.21%. It started at 4.68% on 1-1-16 so an increase of 0.3% per month so a quick back of the fag packet calculation says it will take 26 years making me 68! Hopefully I can speed this up a bit when the mortgage is done!

Great monthly figures, I can sense how pleased you are!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......

I am! I am very surprised too! Had a TCB payment which added the last bit to go over £700. Mid month was very tight but it came together in the end.

This month should be good as I should get the FIT payment of about £150 which I always OP.

I might have to up my annual target of £6000!
  • Have perhaps found a suitable caravan very small and lightweight £6000 private sale. It's a good buy should hear tomorrow if it's still available.

Am going to leave most of savings intact and pay for most of it with a money transfer from virgin cc as the fee is 2.69 for nearly 3 years interest free. Money is currently earning 5-6% per annum so it's a bit of a no brainier I will earn more in interest on just one of my savings accounts in the 3 years than the transfer charge is. Winner!

Other snooze cc is slowly going down paying the minimum balance although I need to do a balance transfer in August. This was originally moving costs that I paid and transferred to 0%. I was paying it back then instead paid into a regular saver and just paid min balance. Money saved in regular saver exceeds the balance on the cc now so it's just a stoze cc now!

I have applied for the virgin card which will be used for either the bal tfr or the money tfr. Or maybe just a little additional snoozing. Will see how it goes with the caravan :)

As savings have been going really well we can afford this and getting the guttering done this year. Wouldn't have been able to consider this 2 years ago!

I checked and the small part of the mortgage went under 30k in May! Didn't register it had. Should move out of the 120k's next month and in addition larger part of mortgage will go under 90k. That's s nice few milestones in 2 months. A two part mortgage means double the milestones!

Anyhow not too spendy a day. Cricket holiday club cancelled again so look miniocc and his friend to a trampoline park met another friend there who had also missed cricket too. I paid £20 in total :) I'm hoping to get the £40 I paid for 2 days at cricket camp back as it was cancelled both days. I will be s little cross if I don't as the only back up plan was to have additional days tomorrow and Friday which miniocc can't do. He has a cricket tournament tomorrow with his usual club, hope that's not cancelled!

Total spends today £20 (or maybe £6020!)
