Has your house been extended upon before? A lot of old places that have had "additions" have quite bad layouts. Mine is very dated but I quite like it that way personally. :rotfl:
Yes, a caravan seems a sensible idea. I don't think it's something we'd use enough to justify, though.
Yours isn't the only one sad about school tomorrow. My son has been very ill tempered about the reality of returning to school tomorrow.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
House was several cottages knocked into one with additional bits built on. Upstairs the layout is okay, downstairs I one side it's feral!
Have received a few pence short of £190 FIT payment through. That's gone straight to the mortgagetarget is total of £690 including fit payment.
Today nearly a NSD just around a tenner on some school uniform.
Stooze money has arrived in account and some will be sent to lloyds tomorrow0 -
Wow! I looked at somewhere similar before we bought this house. The upstairs had clearly not been modified from when it was two houses. It had two staircases and two large bathrooms.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Yay a NSD today as on my course, over half way through now
Caravan is arriving tomorrow, need to pay for insurance todaytowbar will be done later in the week. Will ring car insurance and breakdown company tomorrow to let them know.
Stooze account is almost ready will have that all transferred by end of the week. Need to let the money shuffle happen then add the new account in too for July.
That's all folks0 -
THE CARAVAN IS HERE!!!
very excited as you can tell, car insurance, home insurance and breakdown insurance informed. Caravan insurance purchased (£75)
Tow bar yet to be done but will be early next week. Need to get a numberplate too!
A friend with all the gear (and experience) is coming to chop down a tree in our backgarden and we are paying him for his time (£30). This is being done on Sunday. This is a right result.
Personal spends are getting tight, the whole £250 I have saved is still intact with 8 days to go but nothing really left in the account so over the weekend I will have to start nibbling at the savings. Bills account is looking a little sad too but the money shuffle is going on, will need to keep an eye on it and do a bit of robbing peter to pay paul for a week or two.
£4000 going to the stooze account as soon as it is properly set up. I need to remember tonight to set up 2 dd's from tesco to that stooze account.
Its been a funny few months money wise really, stretched a little tight but have still done well with the OP's. OP goal for June is £690 and currently £200 so £490 to go, almost £200 is a regular OP so really £290 to add to it. Hopefully will be able to get to that with all these additional expenses ive given myself!
Mini actually made it to cricket yesterday! theres 4 boys in his class there now so he's loving it more than ever!0 -
£20 taken from personal spends savings do £230 still left.
Friend came to take down tree, almost disasterous as for some unbeknown reason it fell the other way. Friend is very experienced at tree felling and almost had a baby when it didn't go as expected! Garden looks wierd without tree but it was far too huge for our garden, taller than the house and had a huge shadow which I'd imagine all the neighbour will be pleased to see the back of. He left the logs and got rid of the rest for us. A result for £30 costs.
The BF is going to start inside of house tomorrow hopefully, getting some doors in to be stripped. It's nice to see stuff getting done with minimal spends although as we work for ourselves I've been taking on the bulk of the work whilst he's been at home.
Was village fair yesterday and it peed it down, we lasted out til about 7pm when we called it a day. Was a little squiffy too!
Tomorrow I must move stooze money and set up DD for new everyday CC to pay balance in full. End of last week I stuck the number plate and 2 new tyres £150 in total. Still have to pay £300 for a towbar and then we are set up for caravanning! It will be smaller OP's for this and next month £690 this month and £500 next. All savings should remain intact0 -
Glad the tree didn't damage anything!
Caravan sounds exciting. I saw this site today and thought it looked really cool: http://thevanual.com/ We're not ready to be quite that mobile (or be in such cramped quarters with the dogs) but it's inspiring to see what can be done.0 -
Are you pleased with the caravan? Nice to hear you're getting on with the house, reading about other people doing work to theirs gives me a bit of motivation to do something to mine.
Sounds like you got good value re. the tree though I'm pleased there was no damage. The weather has been awful here for 5/6 days.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Very happy with carvan and having our first trip out this weekend
Nothing much going on moneywise personal spends payday tomorrow although I've had to dip into the amount I save to last the month. I think £180 still intact. Still very good and next month is bad for personal spends too so I'm really going to have to be very carful to save the full £250 ( v unlikely)
House renovations are going well but slowly. In fact everything is going well but slowly!
Promised help for mini from the school still not materialised how long should I wait before complaining. I am actually getting a little annoyed with false promises.0 -
Don't wait, complain today. Then ask on progress every day. If nothing in 1 week write to the governors.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
