It sounds like everything is going well for you :D

Really makes me think I should be more savvy. Could do with stoozing against my car loan. Think I may have had too man searches just now though. And I need to figure out how to do it... may just wait for the next offer from my 2 empty cards and take the cash out.

Good luck with mini's cricket , hope it doesn't get cancelled

I have applied for the virgin card which will be used for either the bal tfr or the money tfr. Or maybe just a little additional snoozing. Will see how it goes with the caravan :)

    Stoozing can get addictive. :)

    Hope the caravan works out.
  • I feel like I am repeating myself but cricket cancelled AGAIN! Thats in total the last 5 cricket sessions mini is due to go to cancelled including 3 this week!

The caravan didn't come off but am looking at another one tomorrow same model and price. I will definately stooze the CC that I applied for if this one is no good. Will open a Lloyds account to hold it.

I checked and I am not quite neutral yet on the first stooze card, I am also a bit longer off the need to switch which is a result. I thought it was august 2016 but it is actually feb 2017 :) Will be neutral next month though which is really good.

but on the plus side a personal NSD
  • Caravan is perfect small but perfectly formed. £500 deposit paid and the bloke is delivering although it's 150 mile round trip!!!

As we want it next week I have had to money transfer from the barclaycard but did the whole balance so I can stooze the rest in lloyds! Virgin will become spending cc for now. I might cancel and apply elsewhere I don't know. Or I might stooze a couple of grand and totally fill the high interest accounts :) will decide when it arrives.

I am hoping to be cc neutral again in 12 -18 months even with the van purchase leaving other savings (non stooze) alone. I might need to stick to my planned £500 pm OP's to achieve this but it's so worth it. My target st the beginning of the year was £500 pm so I will stick to that min and stick rest in the stooze savings and pay minimum monthly.

I have s spreadsheet going to keep track of this already!

I have fabulous childhood memories of caravan trips. Used to love walking home from school and seeing the caravan outside and dad loading the car up!

We have a Berlingo van that we had an awning for so used as a mini camper but the boy is getting to big (he's about 135cm and only 7!) now and 3 people plus 2 dogs in a Berlingo is okay for a night or 2 but not longer!

I can't wait to get it! So excited! Like you SJ mini is going to love it! He will be extremely excited when we go out in it for the first time.

As mini was with GPs we got loads done today clearing the study area in the house and doing a load of cutting back of the hedges. The BF is going to take s few extra days off next week to carry on with it. Get some stuff done on the house whilst we can! Also it will save any expenditure thus maximising OP's available whilst we move back to cc neutral.

Had a little epiphany on the house, have decided to get an architect in to look at big layout changes to ground floor which would mean that an extension would not be required. It will be significant alterations/wall removals but would have multiple thousands of possible. So the plans are

    1) 2016 guttering on house £4000
Small piece of fencing required £300
Get half way back to cc neutral without touching savings. £3000
    Meet OP target of £6000
Remove large border and cut back hedges in garden £0
Revamp study area and bed 3 £100 + carpet

    2) 2017 get architect to look st layout £500-£1000 (total guess)
Change layout to ground floor £3000-£5000 (total guess)
    OP target of £6000
    Achieve cc neutrality £300
    Revamp bed 4 £100 + carpet

    Other stuff to do
Remove hedge in garden and move gate
    refit upstairs bathroom
    Revamp upstairs hall and stairs
    Refit kitchen
    Revamp living area
    Revamp entrance
    Revamp utility
Get small roof area checked out
Redo 2 x small flat roofs
    Garden office

All sounds fantastic, OCC. :) Clearly been very busy in the time I've been away. What's wrong with the house as it is?

The caravan sounds like great fun. My wife often talks about having a motorhome and towing a car behind. I like the idea but upon looking was very shocked how much money a decent one is! :rotfl:
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

The house is okay as it is but very dated with a bad layout. Nothing has been done on it for about 30 years so in need of a revamp in all areas.

We did consider motorhome but went for caravan due to price.

Today was a small spend day just some ice creams out using our season passes. Spent morning going more house tidying. Mini was very tired today after day with grandparents so was grumpy all day.

School back tomorrow, sad about that.
