I'm sure my 7yr old would love cricket, but unfortunately days around work and beavers aren't being kind!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Thanks Alex, hopefully it will materialise but we are working at home to help anyway.
SJ mini loves cricket, being a leftie who can really whack it he can usually beat the people he's playing with every time which is always good when you are 7. It's suprising his long a group of 7/8 year old take to work out he will hit it the other direction :rotfl: in bat for 15 minutes last week and still wasn't out as the session ended before they could do it! At school he managed in rounders to hit the ball into the pre school garden when they were out playing. Luckily no injuries!
As he can throw a long way too cricket is his dream sport. Last year he did throwing at cluster sports day and beat all the KS1 children (he was in year1) from all the schools. In fairness the rest didn't stand a chance he should have been put with the KS2s to make it fair. Catching on the other hand!!!!!
Money wise not a great deal doing on, shopping done £90 spent but the basics to last 2 weeks. Should be able to last on an extra £10 for the extra fruit/veg required end of week one.
No OPs additional made yet. My personal spends have been higher this month so may have to dip into your personal spends savings. Well I will have to as I am going out next weekend. It's a shame as I've lasted the last few months saving the full £250, I think I will end up on £150 this month which is still very good.
Nationwide regular saver set up so will fund that from business account from our divs. This is an annual op fund / saving for high school if required fund. Need to make the business income work better for us too.0 -
That's interesting that your son is left handed. I read somewhere that it's more common to be dyslexic if you are left handed, my son is too. It's annoying having to dip into personal spends but you are still doing well.Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930
Crazy Clothes Challenge 2016 £79.98/£1500 -

From what they said at the assessment it is common for dyslexic learners to use both hands and although son is very left handed uses right for things like eating etc. I do really think though that lefties seem to be more creative people judging from the lefties I know.
A annoying on the dipping into savings of my person spends but bearing in mind I used to save none of them anything is an improvement!!!
The BF is currently in heathrow, flying for a day (business) trip to belgium and back tomorrow night. hopefully that will come to something and with our new US based customer we are now fully international!!!
nothing much done money wise today as I have been 100% lazy! but the money shuffle has started which is always very exciting especially when I have had a little tinker with it!0 -
I'm ambidextrous and can write perfectly with both my right and left hands; the music pupils find it a bit odd I'll mark scores in pencil with one hand and write notes in a notebook in pen with the other. Also apparently use the right and left sides of the brain equally too (only know this through online tests, so hardly proven). Goodness knows what an assessor would make of that. :rotfl:
You're right anything is an improvement over not saving any of your personal spends at all.Personally I think you're doing very well with money management. Good luck for the potential new international business, it sounds very exciting.
2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
okay dokay OP's up to £180 this month. Will add to this after the regular mortgage payment has come out on 24th. There may well be a some small OP's from TCB this month too although nothing much.
I am hoping to hit a £600 OP target this month but that's going to be an effort as have a little CC bill to pay due to buying a few things last month for mini's learning and the new robot vacuum. Zero on the CC this month though
Have set up the additional £200 drawings per month going to the new nationwide regular saver account. This is to use as an OP at the end of the regular saver term. Im hoping to top this up a little too and can up to £500 per month. Im just hoping this will take a few months off the length without really noticing it. This should give almost £2.5k this time next year
joined mini up on the rnib library of audio books. Free for dyslexics so very MSE! He listened in bed tonight and really enjoyed it.
Going out tomorrow night to a hen night so will be spendy0 -
Lowlights
£45 put on CC and £30 transferred from savings.
Had to pay to join local social club use every week but have never been asked before £14 spent
Highlights
Hen night was fun, wierd but fun and not too spendy at £70 including clothing purchases.
Garage sale today hoping for £100 although £50 will do nicely.
And the really massive highlight, mini won player of the season voted for by the players. He was so chuffed. Team lunch out today so a few £££ to spend in the pub.0 -
Congrats miniocc! That's a great achievement, especially as it was decided by his peers.0

Thanks, it is a big thing for him
A new personal spends payday, money straight out. I've calculated I have about £200 to last the month which is doable
Today We have
£54.25 OP made (thanks mainly to BF!)
Brought some books £30
Paid for camping in July £38
Paid for school holiday club £40
Put months tutor money aside £75
Put £100 to the additional education fund currently at £405.00
I realise that I've made a small balls up on dates do bills accounts will be £200 OD for 1 day next week. Will transfer from savings in and out to cover. Just a minor annoyance really, but annoying none the less.
Still aiming for £600 OP this month, nowhere near that yet
In other news cricket cancelled due to weather so £5 saved on drinks. Mini was very upset but that might have been the dreaded maths sats which my his own admission he did terribly in. I've told him not to worry, it matters not one jot0 -
Another busy weekend starting. It's meares irlens assessment day for miniocc but that's being paid for by grandparents luckily. Phew. Got s party to go to first and an hours drive to get there
Then have a choice of events for Sunday, all of which cost nothing
Also need to do some food shopping though it will be a small shop this week.
OD day on Tuesday so will move some money around for 24 hours. Sometimes getting drawings weekly flummoxes me. Too keen with my OP's. Next month is a 5 week month though so will right itself in one day
Still edging towards a £600 OP this month and FIT reading day tomorrow so will throw that at the mortgage next month on top of the regular OPam going to update the spreadsheets today hopefully short term savings up by more than investments down!
