I got nearly £900 back! It was well worth it. Even better, my business losses for the first year were so huge that I've carried forward an enormous loss to this year, so I'm hoping for a few thousand back next time round. I haven't lied, but desperately hoping they don't investigate as I know how I've worked it all out, but all the paperwork is a total mess!0

My first year too is carrying forward a loss, and I have always made sure that any "employed" work like the uni or the bar were taxed on the whole amount, without using any tax code, so I am thinking that perhaps a small amount might be due back. It won't be anywhere near £900 though, but I won't know until I send it in, will I!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Yikes... you're doing so much, panda! Sorry I haven't been on your diary in a while - I should go to the subscribed threads to find it, but I'm lazy, and tend to stick to the first page of the forum, and I don't think we post at the same times of day, so I keep missing you. HSBC and Halifax - the two financial institutions I trust the least! ha ha.... stll, you're going in knowing what they're like, from the sound of it, so thats good. Hope those internal bruises from the baby are healing! *Please* don't work too hard this weekend. I'm out all day, but will catch up tomorrow. Take care!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Don't worry. There's absolutely NO danger of me ever doing that!!!
But I'd better show up at some stage, so I'm definitely off now, happy in the knowledge that we've now paid off 7.41% of our debt. See you all later!0 -
Panda you are doing great paying off that 7.41% from your debts - i am proud of you.
So who wants to come over and fill out some job applications for me - i will throw in free tea and biccies.£2 savers club 2025 #40 -
Ooh, be careful - jobs normally mean work! Took me ages to find one that doesn't actually involve doing anything!!!0

Hi Panda
Did you ever get an answer about the mortgage from HSBC? how long do you think it will be until you are ready to move? i cant believe how much you have to do with only 7 weeks to go. hopefully you will get your OH working hard to get everything done. How much longer are you going to be working for, is there a point when they say you have to start your metirnity or can you work right up to the due date?DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
I'm sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting for the results of football matches which involve 4 teams I never even knew existed. There's got to be something wrong there! But really chuffed that we finally did a couple of matched bets last night, and remembered how easy it is once you've actually done the working out (and also how much free cash you need to invest - nearly £600 tied up!). Hoping for about £100ish profit after cashback from tonight's matches.
My baby bump is really starting to take the mick now with his kicking - kept me up most of last night and it hasn't stopped all day. The pelvis thing doesn't help either - I might have to get those crutches out and then google some operating instructions for them. I've been at work for the past 4 days, which definitely doesn't help as I've worked out that driving (45 mins each way), and stairs (3 steep flights at work with toilet on ground floor) are the worst things.
Got our formal written mortgage offer in the post from Halifax this morning. Touching wood that means all's 100% sorted. Our buyers' survey is getting done tomorrow morning by a bloke called Kevin. (Not sure why that bit of info was relevant!).
I'm trying to force myself to play some bingo tonight, but so far I've managed to find sufficient excuses to avoid it. The fact that I played through 8 sites yesterday and won diddly-squat doesn't help with the motivation! Still, over £350 profit from it so far isn't to be sniffed at.0
