  • ohh that doesn't sound right that you get penalised for having 0% debt on CC rather than a loan...you think they would see you have some finanical savvy by moving loans across...seems stupid to me:mad: may be an independent mortgage broker could help if the Halifax won't??

I know, it's utter madness! Apparently, with loans they take the actual monthly payment out of your monthly salary to see what budget you've got left, but with credit cards they take 5% of the outstanding balance - so even though we pay about £750 on CCs, some of which is overpayment on the min repayments, they are removing £1750 from our budget. But the bloke saw exactly what we meant and agreed it made sense, and said that he should be able to do it in a non-computer-approved way since we can afford the repayments, and we're heading over there this morning with all our statements etc to see what he can do.

MickeyMouse, I can't believe you actually read all that! I think this might be the second time this morning I've told you that you need your head reading...! :D Lunar's right - we don't do failure around here, and I think you'll be doing Platinum by the time we've finished. The same goes for you too Lunar! BTW Lunar, have you done the free bingo yet? I've been sending details out to loads of people - remind me your email if you want a copy.

Had a bit more Pyapal money in the bank this morning which I've added to my Olympic total - it's looking healthy but mainly because of the post-Xmas Ebay sales of cutlery (which I count seperately to business income for various reasons).

Have a good day everyone! And wish us GLGLGLGLGL and lemons and all that for the Halifax. Otherwise it's straight on the phone to L&C to see what they advise.

:j Halifax have apparently just approved our mortgage!:j WTG!:D

Called in this morning with all our statements and things as requested, but missed one, so DH ran on to HSBC (while I hobbled slowly back to the car - we'd gone for the MSE free 1hr space instead of into the car park! ;) ) but he's just rung me from the Halifax to say that while we were out at HSBC getting the statement printed and having a general whinge at the mortgage person there, Mr Halifax has done all the figures and is now able to approve in branch.

What a relief! Had to pop on to celebrate!
