Hellooo, didn't get up early enough to update this morning so here I am, better late than never

I'm happy to say that today was NSD number 3. I was sorely tempted by C*sta Coffee this lunchtime so I didn't leave the office and kept myself out of harms way.
I'm also happy to say that I sold two items on Eb*y today making a grand total of £23 to add to my total after deductions. The trouble is its not getting me anywhere at the moment. January is all about damage limitation I'm afraid. I need another £54 to enable me to end the month without getting overdrawn - its one step forward and two steps back
Next Christmas will be different, I'm really determined never to have another January like this one. I'm living on my nerves at the moment and its causing tension between us. I don't feel like I have any control over my life at the moment and it scares me :eek:
I heard someone on the radio this morning saying that you have to be good to yourself and I think that's absolutely true. Being good to yourself isn't just all about diet and exercise though, it can also be about not adding unnecessarily to life's everyday stresses. I'm a worrier, I just can't help it, so if I can reduce "worry material" it has to be good!
So, tomorrow's challenge is be good to yourself :T1st card to go - Aq*a - [STRIKE]£1,600[/STRIKE]/ £1,596.990 -
Good morning :j
Just a quick update before I go to work.
I'm going to the dentist first thing this morning to have a tooth out then straight into work afterwards. I hope it doesn't hurt too much.
Today is unlikely to be a NSD as I haven't made myself any lunch to take with me because I don't know what I'll be able to eat! I have to pop out to the Post Office so will probably buy myself something soft just to keep me going. On the other hand I have a box of Cup a Soups in my desk so if I'm not too hungry I will make do
Luckily, I paid for the treatment in full before Christmas so its not going to cost me anything today.
No sales overnight, but I did sell two yesterday so maybe I'm being greedy :rotfl:
Hope everyone else has a good MSE day x1st card to go - Aq*a - [STRIKE]£1,600[/STRIKE]/ £1,596.990 -

Thanks for asking Puzzcat & Beanielou but today was pants if I'm honest

Came home, had a bit of a cry, had a cuddle with BF and feel much better now. I'm a big baby!
Whinge No 1: My tooth was broken so I thought it would be a piece of cake but I was wrong and it hurt
It didn't help when the Dentist showed me my tooth and proceeded to praise the quality of the roots and tell me how strong they were - I didn't need telling, I could feel it!
Whinge No 2: I spent the whole day at work today doing someone else's work. I have a feeling that a certain person thinks that because I always try to help other people if I can, I'm a soft touch and I won't say anything. No more! I don't mind helping out if I can because that's in my nature, but I'm nobody's fool either so this woman's going to toughen up
Whinge No 3: I love where I live but really hate driving home from work over the mountains in torrential rain and gale force winds with some idiot driving too close to me with super bright lights dazzling me all the way. If you want to pass me, then just pass me, but I'm not going to go any faster when my little car feels like its going to take off in the wind and my wipers can't cope with the rain
Phew that's better!
Today wasn't a NSD. I couldn't resist a Cos*a at lunchtime and I bought a pack of lovely soft rolls to make lunches for the rest of the week.
One bit of good news for today - I sold two more items on Eb*y which adds £22.99 to my total.
Two more sleeps till the weekend and 19 sleeps till my payday (17 sleeps till BF's payday).

No whingeing for me today - I'm too tired! I was so stressed at work, as soon as I stepped through the door at home - a migraine
Not a NSD for me today, I succumbed to Cos*a Coffee again. I really need to get this sorted. I also had to buy an unexpected birthday card (work colleague) and I bought a magazine because I can't resist reading rubbish
I'm being treated to lunch tomorrow which means I don't have to make sandwiches in the morning and also means I can avoid coffee temptations!
I sold a pair of trousers today so that's another £8.52 to add to my total.
I'm itching to get started with my new grocery budget but payday feels miles away at the moment. It doesn't feel like I'm making much progress yet - its all good intentions at the moment.
The plan is to feed the both of us on £35 per week which is half what we're spending at the moment. This is going to take a lot of planning, so the days between now and payday will be spent working out menus and Ebay*ng like a madwoman :T1st card to go - Aq*a - [STRIKE]£1,600[/STRIKE]/ £1,596.990 -
Good Morning from a very wet and windy Wales

Don't really know what I'm going to do with myself today, but I know it won't be spending money because I don't have any!
I sent three items back to Ne*t yesterday, they were all unworn and were well within the time they give you to send stuff back. Common sense prevailed and made me realise that having three lovely dresses in the wardrobe is a complete waste of money when you can't afford to go out to dinner (poor me!) - don't be fooled I'm not really upset, I'm getting a huge buzz out of finding stuff to save some money. This should reduce my bill by about £270 :T
No sales yesterday, but I've had a few enquiries about a couple of larger items, but we'll have to see what happens.
Yesterday was a rubbish day (apart from being taken out to lunch) because I woke up with a migraine and the headache lasted all day. I'm still not right! I don't like whingeing about them but i'm quite fed up that they keep coming
Ok, whinge over. I'd better go and do something. I think i'll pop over and see my mum first.

Well, I'm home and that was an eventful morning!
I've borrowed £300 from my mum to give me a start on payday. I never want to be in the position where I have to ask my parent for a loan again. This is 100% a loan (and a very little one). I've never asked my family for money and it wasn't a nice thing to have to do.
Anyway, we had a heart to heart (I didn't tell her the extent of it, I just couldn't) and she admitted that she's been having trouble with her feet, so I've managed to get her to agree to a visit from a Chiropodist. To most people, this is no big deal, but to my mum, this is a huge step :T I had a go at them, but I think she needs professional help
Its not been a NSD but its been a "low spend day". I bought us a lovely cake for later reduced to £1.59...yummy
I forgot one thing - I bought a "4he*ds" which I find very helpful. I think I take too many painkillers for headaches at times and this helps a lot but at £6.40, its not cheap
I've had one sale today making £11.70 to add to my fund. Not sure if its free listing this weekend, I'll have to check as I have a few bits I can list tonight.
I have £23 in my purse and 14 sleeps till BF's wages go in

I'm having a semi-lazy day today and am I feeling guilty?...No!
I've had a lovely lie in and am currently sipping my way through a cafetiere of my Christmas coffee. I'm trying very hard to make it last as long as I can because I'm not sure my £35 per week grocery budget will stretch to nice coffee, but you never know.
I've changed the bed and put our dirty linen in the washer. I've been without a dryer for about 8 months now and to be honest am managing perfectly well. I don't really like having clothes drying on the horse, but at least where I have it, you can't really see it
The only other job I intend to do today is the hoovering. Its not that big a job but I like it when its done. As soon as BF gets home from work, I'll light the log burner. I dry my work clothes on hangers above the fire and they'll be dry in a couple of hours. I try not to have any heating on during the day to try and save some money. We're in credit with the electricity, our last bill showed £143 credit.
Today's dinner will be jacket spud, cheese and beans. We're having guests tomorrow so I'm saving the turkey bits until then.
I have quite a lot of oats in the cupboard so I may have a look for something nice to cook with oats.
So much for my lazy day! I'm not even finished updating my diary and I'm already looking for stuff to do - BF keeps telling me that I can't keep still, maybe he's right :rotfl:
I had a good run on the surveys last night. I'm about 1/3 of the way to a voucher on Tol*na. I'm going to check out some of the other sites later. I'd love to be able to save a stash of vouchers for next Christmas.
Not a lot else to update, its a long slog from now to payday before we see much progress.
Its a bit chilly here now so I'm going to do the hoovering to see if that warms me up!
