Five years till I'm 50 - 60 months to get debt free!

Hi Elly, I'm going to write a list of pros and cons. I wasn't really ready to leave there, I went for job security, but I think I may have jumped the gun by leaving when I did. Knowing me I'll ponder over it for a week and change my mind at least half a dozen times before I decide what to do.
I'm !!!!ed with everyone at the moment - with myself for being carp with money, with DS3 for not coming round when he said he would, with my brother for swanning off for the whole weekend and posting photos of the lovely time he's having with his new GF on twi**er while I'm taking [STRIKE][STRIKE][STRIKE]most[/STRIKE][/STRIKE][/STRIKE] all of the flak here and spending most of my time in an old people's home and also with my BF for taking his first weekend off in months and using it to go off on his bike instead of with me
I'll get over it though - just feeling disgruntled today :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Taking mum to see a specialist tomorrow so hopefully we'll know more this time tomorrow. She's been threatening to refuse to go, but I've told her she has to go. Its just as well I can't afford to go on holiday because I've no leave left now till October!
Its a beautiful day today, but not warm enough to sit outside. I've just run back in to get a jumper after going out with my Kindle for a read - its definitely goosepimple weather :rotfl:

Somehow, without even noticing, I've turned into a cross between Hyacinth Bucket and my grandmother. I don't know if this has been a gradual process, of if anyone noticed - if they did, nobody's said anything!
My brother inherited all the tall, blonde lanky genes whereas I've inherited all the short, and curvy genes together with hair that seems determined to go grey overnight - and as if that wasn't bad enough - I've inherited the "can't stop cleaning and baking" gene too which is playing havoc with my waistline
I should be much slimmer than I am with all the hoovering but now we're three weeks into Bake Off and I've turned into a wannabe Mary Berry - so far this week, we've had double chocolate chip muffins, date slices, sausage rolls and this afternoon my brother is bringing his new girlfriend round to meet the family for the first time - soooooo I've made coffee and walnut cake.
I haven't updated my diary for months, and to be honest my money situation is pretty dire - its gone from bad to worse, and I won't go into it now cos its a beautiful sunny day and I don't want to look miserable when my guests get here
To be fair, I have changed my spending habits these last couple of months - if I haven't got it I can't spend it!
I'll be back later with more of an update and to give my verdict on the new girlfriend
I hope everyone else is ok x1st card to go - Aq*a - [STRIKE]£1,600[/STRIKE]/ £1,596.990 -

Good afternoon fellow MSE'rs - I hope everyone's having a nice Sunday. Its actually not a bad day here today.
I think its time for a catch-up. I've buried my head in the sand for a couple of months and instead of getting better, things have just gone downhill (big time!). I'm of the "if I can't see it, its not there" school of thought, so I just stopped looking in on MSE and stopped thinking about the bills - big mistake!
At the moment, my incomings don't cover my outgoings and if it wasn't for the income from Ebay, I wouldn't be able to pay my bills.
So far this month, I have a deficit of approximately £170. My next target is to raise £95 by the 11th to pay the next bill. The result of all this stress is that I'm constantly suffering from migraines and I'm a miserable madam 90% of the time
Soooooo, we've got a plan:-
1. I've applied for a secured bank loan in order to consolidate the credit card debts. I have enough equity in the house so that hasn't been too difficult. Unfortunately, when I changed jobs last year, I took a pay cut in order to gain job security so in order to borrow enough money to clear the debts, this new loan will be in joint names with my partner.
2. This is where the second complication comes in - my partner has about 10 months left to run on an IVA. The loan company have been great, if we can get the IVA company to accept our offer of settlement, they will loan us the money in joint names and we clear the IVA plus my credit card debts.
3. This is where the forward planning comes in. BF and I have been together for 5 years and engaged for 4. Its second time around for both of us so we haven't rushed into marriage. I've been through so much in the last few years since my dad got ill and if it wasn't for BF I don't know how I would have coped - we've had the talk and we're finally ready to get married :T
4. I've spoken to the Financial Adviser and she tells me that if the IVA is cleared and the loan goes through as it should, if we can keep it together for 12 months, BF's credit record should be sufficiently repaired for us to put my original mortgage and our joint secured loan together in one joint mortgage which would reduce our monthly outgoings by about £300.
5. I want to put 25% of my house in BF's name. I think this is fair because I paid 50% of the cost of the house when I bought it and I've been paying the mortgage for 4 years. When we remortgage the other 50% in joint names, all costs will be split down the middle, all monies will go into the joint account and we will be entirely accountable to each other, which is as it should be in a marriage.
Putting his name on the house, is only fair - if he wasn't paying more than his fair share of the outgoings, I would have had to sell up months ago
So now all cards are on the table. His IVA company have a creditors meeting in three weeks and after that its make or break. If our plan doesn't work, the house will be on the market next month
I didn't get the new job - didn't even get an interview. I know who did get the job and if I say that I think the job was probably hers before it was even advertised it sounds like sour grapes, (which is partly true) but I think it probably was!
BF has a new job which he loves. Its more secure than where he was before and he now has as much overtime as he wants, which fair play to him, he takes full advantage of - he's worked 9 days on the go so far!
Brother's new GF was lovely. I know you can't know someone after only one meeting, but so far so good, she's got the seal of approval :T
Mum's not bad, I've only got one little gripe - so far she's been approved for the higher level attendance allowance. After paying the carers there's approximately £100 over each month. Am I being grasping if I think I should get some of that? I do all the washing, cleaning and shopping for her and am there for between 30 minutes to an hour every day on the way home from work. I had to go back out the other day because she couldn't turn on the tv! You'll probably think I'm being grasping!
My only other gripe is with Welsh Water who have almost doubled our DD each month from £27.50 to £49.00 per month! Is this reasonable for two people living in a four bed home with children who pop in and out but don't live here? It seems extortionate to me!
I'd better go and start the tea - I'll have a hungry BF here in a bit and he deserves something nice after working overtime all day. I'll be back in a bit to catch up on all the diaries x1st card to go - Aq*a - [STRIKE]£1,600[/STRIKE]/ £1,596.990
