  • Good evening, I hope everyone had a good day :D

I made it to work today, the roads were still snowy but passable today. Very busy day at work, I had to catch up with what I missed yesterday.

We've just been to Al*i to do the weekly shop and the total spent today was £15.85. I had hoped to spend about £13.50 but we bought a couple of multi packs which sent us over but we won't need to buy these items next week. It started snowing as we were coming out of the shop so now BF is hoping he'll be snowed in tomorrow :D

Just checked my Eb*y account. Two sales which is :j but have an awkward customer which is making me feel quite . They've requested a return for item not as described when the item is 100% as described. What bugs me is not just the fact that they've lied, but also that they've requested the return through Eb*y which will damage my dashboard when they could've just asked me

Not a lot else to report really. I've done my PAD today and paid £2.20 to the Aq*a card. Other than that, its just a long boring slog till payday when I can off some more.

  • Hello

I hope everyone's keeping nice and warm. I'm in a cranky mood today with no idea why so I thought I'd catch up with a few diaries for inspiration. I just made a payment off my Cap1 card and for some reason the automated system didn't work so they put me through to the "collections department" to be spoken down to by the rudest customer services person I've ever come across. Firstly, I've never missed a payment and secondly to that rude lady who remarked that I'm only making "just over minimum payment" I'd just like to say :tongue::tongue:

I've been to see my mum this morning and had lunch there. Tonight, we're having potato cakes and poached eggs with runner beans from the freezer - I've already got the potatoes boiling away nicely. I need to buy an Ama*on voucher later for my brother's birthday but I already have approximately £9 credit in my account so hopefully I can use that towards it.

Its not something I expected to hear myself say, but I'm really enjoying the challenge of sticking to a spending budget. Even after making a mistake at the start of the month and leaving myself with £75 less than I though I had, I think we're going to make it which means I can definitely stick to £140 per month for groceries and probably manage on even less if I get really imaginative. I'm getting quite a kick out of it.

  • Feeling a bit less cranky now. BF is home and we had a lovely tea. The potato cakes were very nice - I'm sure they'd be nice with cheese too.

Just made my PAD of £2.39 to the Aq*a card and added £15.85 to my Eb*y challenge total. I've also added another :) to my signature only another 8 to go before the end of the month (not sure if that's positive or wishful thinking). Also just had someone ask a question about another one of my items which should hopefully lead to a sale.

  • Hello :hello::hello:

Today started quite :( when I woke up with a migraine but its gradually got better. I took a couple of pills and went back to sleep for a couple of hours. Its been a brilliant day for sales today - I've made £19.98 and added one more :) to my tracker which makes it three down seven to go!

I've made a PAD of £1.77 to my Aq*a card and so far today's been a NSD.

Once the painkillers kicked in I had quite a productive day:-

    1. Emptied and refilled the dishwasher.
    2. Hoovered the whole house (after I dismantled and reassembled the vacuum cleaner that wouldn't suck!) :T.
    3. Made some flapjacks.
    4. Made a Victoria Sponge.
    5. Made a mega shepherd's pie.
    6. Cleaned kitchen and bathroom floor.
    7. Packed up 6 Eb*y packages.

  • Ok - time for a round up - I need to see it in black and white.

These totals are after the mortgage has gone out.

    Current Account balance - £23.00
    Online Savings (Eb*y) - £51.00
    Emergency Fund - £30.00

    Outgoings

    06/02/15 - Petrol 20.00
    13/02/15 - Petrol 20.00
    14/02/15 - Valentines Meal 20.00
    16/02/15 - House Ins 8.69
    16/02/15 - Ne*t 102.00
    23/02/15 - EE 39.00

    Total - £209.69

Therefore the amount of money I need to raise from Eb*y sales before the 23rd February is £135.69

Good job I've got plenty of stuff to sell which is how I've got into this mess in the first place :o:o

My emergency fund is a pityful sight at the moment but as I'm starting from absolute scratch its going to be a battle! If I can blitz the Ne*t and Aq*a debts by June/July I'll be able to breathe more easily

Just to make things a little bit more interesting, we have BF's DS2 and DS3 staying with us for five days in a couple of weeks so I have to get extra imaginative with the budget (possibly not go out on Valentines) - watch this space :)

  • I have to post this because something lovely just happened.

Just after I finished my last post, I was searching the OS boards for recipes when DS3 arrived. He caught a huge rainbow trout today and his mate who's a chef cut it up into beautiful fillets that look just like salmon fillets - some of which are now in my freezer.

This has to be a sign to never lose heart because when you least expect it, there's always something around the corner :)

  • I hope everyone's keeping safe and warm. Its better here today but yesterday was pretty bad. Couldn't get to work so spent most of the day doing not a lot really.

Felt quite low yesterday too and I can't really put my finger on why. I had a big black cloud hovering over me and I couldn't shake it off. I kept looking over at BF and thinking "what on earth does he see in me?" What should have been a nice day with BF in front of the fire turned into a day of self-doubt and general "miserable-ness". Anyway, today, I'm trying very hard to shake off the doom and gloom (an uphill struggle at the moment!).

On the plus side, yesterday was a very good Eb*y day for me and I made £42.69 which means I now need to make £93.00 before the end of the month in order to break even.

Today's PAD was £1.30 to my Aq*a card. I wish I could say that today was a NSD but I just couldn't resist a Cos*a Coffee at lunchtime :o

We're still on budget for our groceries but tomorrow's dinner will be tinned soup from Al*i. Tomorrow's lunchbox will be sandwiches made with leftover sausages from tonight's dinner and a home made flapjack.

Nothing else to update at the moment - 22 sleeps till payday :T

Wow you are going great guns with the ebay sales!!! Looks like you goal is absolutely achievable! The trout sounds amazing - I love it when things like that happen!

Hope things are a bit more positive today - we all get down days - just keep going you will get there!!!!
  • Thanks Judi :)

Busy day at work today, time flew past so quickly - I never stopped!

I've come to a realisation that I've let myself go. I've become completely stuck in the mud. My eating is rubbish, I need to lose about 3 stone, and I take no exercise whatsoever. My hair needs colouring and my eyebrows need doing - if I was a car, I'd definitely fail my MOT :o

Tomorrow at lunch I will be buying some fruit for my Juicer and salad for my lunchbox. I felt a lot better before Christmas when I was having juice for breakfast.

Its a no-brainer really - when I'm lighter I'm happier, when I'm heavier I don't even want to leave the house:(

I want my twinkle back - I'm no fun at the moment.

BF took me out to lunch today, which was a nice surprise AND he paid for it.

No sales yet but I can't complain, its been very good so far.

My PAD was only 97p today, but better than nothing I say!!

Nothing else MSE to report so I'm just counting the days till payday.

Hope everyone else had a good day x

  • Hi Newpennypincher .....have caught up with your diary and subscribed. ... Well done for perservering with your new purge on your debts!

I've hit a bit of a brick wall over the last 9 months myself, so need to get back on the money saving train and start debt busting again. Finding it hard to focus as the main debt is a big chunk rather than lots of little ones. I did really well on the smaller ones but this isnt so easy. I'm making the payments i need to, but really want to throw more at Them.

Will read your progress with interest. Good luck xx
