Had a 30 seconds panic today because I hadn't bought loo rolls. Then remembered we have 17 in stock and there is only 2/3 of us.
Did the last of the food shopping today and now have enough to last until the end of January I hope.
All the presents have been delivered so whats done is done and I hope they are acceptable. The presents we brought back all seem to be bottles. :beer:Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -
At last. Have not been out today but we did our big shop yesterday. It was very quiet in Mr S. Town looked quiet too from the bus on the way there. I am sure it is all hype. What few customers there were did not have big trolleys full like other years. It could be that we represent the majority after the last few years of no wage rises.
I stocked up on white vinegar Mr S seems to be the only place I can get it locally.
DS said "I thought you were going to buy it all." there were only 6 bottles.
Will do our usual stock up of basics in Ald! on Monday then probably nothing much until the middle of January. Will then have missed all the useless sales of things we don't need. Will just need bread milk and vegetables.0 -
I was in Dobbies today, never been there before, and thought to myself are there any MSE'rs in here, they would have been the ones with the free coffees!
) and we always order a large barista coffee for me with a syrup shot..... which given prices of coffees these days means i've earnt my £10 back in 2 visits.

Good morning all
I woke up to see some glossy haired so called expert having kittens on the news over how much money is going to be spent today, again. I literally felt sick. I said to my 6 year old 'that is disgusting with all the real news to cover she's excited about that?' He agreed.
I will be keeping my purse closed firmly.

I'm going to do more of what I did yesterday; shovelling and barrowing well-rotted horse manure about the place. From the common where the gypsies keep their ponies up to the allotment.
An excellent upper-body workout and excellence in veggies to come, and doesn't cost me any cash at all.
Happy Solstice, everybody.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hello purpleshoes (Pauline). I feel that any trolls on here might get walked along the plank pretty darn quick. Splash they will go.
I did my usual fortnightly shop Friday morning which for some reason came to less than it usually does, not that I'm complaining. DH wants to go and get a few treat tomorrow but I'm not bothered so he can get what he wants. The sight of all the overfilled trollies and moments of greed kills my appetite stone dead.
The news and all the whipping up of frenzy about Terrible Tuesday, Mad Monday etc is getting right on my nerves. If only folks could see what was going on eh......

Happy Solstice, everyone, about time too, it has been so dark lately.
I am working Christmas so Christmas Eve will be our main celebration day. Tomorrow I will.pick up a Mr T Click and Collect grocery order, call into Ald1 for a couple of things then that should be it. We might get family coming for New Year but I can think about arrangements for that after Christmas.
In January my mission to cut down on supermarket shopping will begin. We have a wholesale butcher and greengrocer a few miles away, a butcher, pet shop and hardware store in the next village (they sell some cleaning materials) and there are local grocers and chemists nearby. I will still have to call in Ald1 and big supermarkets for some things but not as much.
Finances will be tight in January due to December pay having to last over five weeks, so I will have no choice but to join the good ship No Buy!One life - your life - live it!0
