I have sinned!!!again!!! but only to the sum of £1 it has to be confessed and it was for a rather lovely pink and green stripey 'thing' that looks like an aardvark but I'm sure was on C Beebies a few years ago but whose name I don't know, and it is for my prospective adoptive grandchild as and when he/she joins our family in the future. It was from the Marie Curie charity shop too so although sinful it's maybe gone to a good cause, can I be forgiven please???0

Thanks all for the hints on crafting. It's something I'm seriously going to look into as good and bad news, hubby returns to England for work in a weeks time
Good news as it means we will be getting some needed income, bad news as we will once again be apart after finally getting used to living as a couple again. Still it means I will have more time to look at getting things I like to do done without distractions from himself
Right now he's in the garden digging out a pond. I've been wanting one since we moved here and yesterday was a lovely day ( in the sun that is) he was tinkering about in the garden and decided to put a small patio in. So I said how nice a pond would be just there, and he succumbed
So another spend I'm afraid but it's for long term pleasure as we both used to love sitting beside our old pond, just watching the fish and the wildlife that the pond attracted. Plus I think the grandchildren will love it ( it's raised and will be netted for safety )
So got to find cheap flights for hubby ( no such thing anymore) and start sorting his clothes and getting together a few gifts for his landlady ( family friend). Good thing is she is appreciative of some good Irish beef and I can order it via work and get it for pennies and the chicken factory is so very cheap. I get a kick out of sending over chickens labelled for waitrose that I've only paid a quid for, and she will pay a fortune for lol
Been lucky with the weather, the machine is going full speed. Got all the sofa cushions and throws washed and dried yesterday and now working through dressing gowns and coats as changing over to lighter ones now. Coal man been today and I now have enough to see me through till November at least. Turned the CH off now , just an hour in the morning and an hour before bed, more for mum then us, she feels the cold a lot more then us and hates a cold bedroom
Working tonight so made a fish pie for the pair of them, Ive some gnocchi to eat at lunchtime Tomorrow I won't be working,so it's out for lunch for us. We do like to eat out. It's our leisure time but we do a lunch instead of dinner as most places around do two courses with glass of wine for a tenner. And with the views of the sea and a good walk along the beach after it's £20 well spent0 -

Now that's impressive. :T Well done you.
I spent £20 on material for rocking chair covers today and £3 on picture hooks. Hope to recoup £20 by selling another chair I have recently finished.
Kind regards

I squandered 75p on a chocolate bar, pure comfort eating but hey, I enjoyed it.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Another scrapbooker here but it isn't a cheap hobby so be warned. As to school trips I got a part time job to send my boys on 2 school cruises each (anyone remember U S Uganda) and it was hard to find the money but I don't regret any of it as it gave them both the urge to travel which I didn't get until I was in my 60's.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

I have spent over the last couple of days, £9.70 getting food for work (including quinoa to be a little more healthy) and took out £50 to take mum out for a meal for her birthday. I ended up spending 6.78 on a round of drinks, £26 on my part of the meal, £4 for a taxi and £2.38 for some mango and passonfruit smoothie from Aldi
Crafting wise I do a little cross stitching, a little papercraft and some altering of items. I only started as I picked up a cross stitch mag cos I liked the look of the freebie. It took me weeks to finish that little bird and it's amazing how far I've come in such a short space of time. Others saying it can be expensive are absolutely right, although once you have the basics you can use your imagination. I've altered jewelry boxes from charity shops, tags and even bottles!0 -
Morning shipmates
Already had my first half hour in the garden and now catching up with the thread.
I am now "charging" myself when I use a trolley that requires a
£1 coin - the idea is to put it in my savings pot for the thing that happens at the end of December. It worked really well last year although I actually didn't use all of it.
How are the turned around hangers going with everyone? It has really highlighted how little I actually wear. As Sainsburys have the double up points thing until the end of the month I am going to go and choose some new bits for our trips away. I earn nectar points by doing surveys etc so it is really something for nothing. I actually have come to the conclusion I don't like my clothes at all.
Happy weekend everyone
