I don't wash everything after one use, there's no need unless it's actually dirty or no longer passes the sniff test. I work in an office, I get changed into my pj's as soon as I get home and my clothes go back on hangers in the wardrobe...I've sort of split the wardrobe in 2 so I can tell what's already been worn and it will be washed after the next wearing.
As for jeans, I wear them at least 4 times before they get washed as I only wear them for a few hours at the weekend

Evening everyone
Just spent half an hour battling with my new firewall. But can't complain. My Dad asked me if I need a new one as well and I said yes. So we said we'll get one for more than one computer and share the costs. When I wanted to pay my share he refused to take the money....
emsloves I don't save up for anything special at the moment. But I know that eventually there will be a special wish like replacing my laptop or whatever and I'll be happy to have some money aside and can use it without feeling guilty.
vulpix Oh my... Sounds like a big job is cominig your way one day. When my granny moved to a home it was quite a big job sorting all her stuff. She just had loads of stuff. She still had all the blankets from the 60ies when they were a household of 10 and not only her and my uncle. She just took what she wanted and left my uncle to deal with the rest... He had a hell of a job, but found some pretty amazing things like christmas tree decoration from the 50ies that hadn't seen daylight in God knows how many years.
Jackie I hope your grandkids know what a great granny they have!
I had a good laugh at your ketchup story. Please be careful, before you have to repaint the kitchen... My aunt once tried to make ketchup herself in a pressure cooker. Long story short, she had to repaint her kitchen after that...
Candygirl glad that "madam" is better. Had a good laugh, friends of mine used to call their dog "madam" alongside loads of other names and it always made me smile.
I also don't see the point in washing things after one wear, especially in winter. I wear jeans and cardigans for about four days and shirts/dresses for two days. I only wash things after one wear in summer when it is very hot or when I've been to a smelly place (I just say Chinese restaurant) in them.
Tomorrow will definitively be a spending day with my groceries round (although not too much I need), sushi for me and my sister, the last bits and bobs of a friends present and booking our holidays.Fashion on the Ration 2022: 5/66 coupons used: yarn for summer top 5 /
Note to self, don't buy yarn!0 -
I spent £9.54 today getting food for work, then my little brother surprised me with £100! He borrowed some money from me a while ago and to be perfectly honest I didn't think I'd see any of it again so it went straight into my bank account. Makes up for the money I've spent this month anyway.0

Had to spend today, the car needed feeding, otherwise I'd be walking to work, but that was the only spend and it won't need doing again for the next 10-14 day's,the lower number is if I get a few booking's on the 'night' job.£71.93/ £180.000

Hello fellow shipmates:D
Still spending not a lot. We did purchase a new set of ovengloves as ours had developed rather a nasty hole and Mr GBT burnt his fingers! He's also bought a couple of picture frames from the charity shop to display some photos he's taken and printed off.
Some more rummaging and cleaning in the kitchen cupboards has produced a couple of jars of jelly. I think they're supposed to to with cold meat but they're providing a rather different sandwich filling for my lunch this week. I found a box of lasagne which I never make as the faff factor is too high for me [I cook when I need to not for pleasure] so I'm going to smash the sheets up and use as per normal pasta,
Plans for February include making fudge in the SC, trying out a couple of savoury popcorn flavours and look at some new pancake flavours.
We've been out with our National Trust cards to a local garden to admire the snowdrops this week.
Arilx
Could you share the fudge recipe please. Would love to have a go at that.
I also don't wash clothes after one wear (unless v dirty) have to keep an eye on DH & DS though as they would put everything in the wash basket instead of hanging it back up.:mad:We WILL stick to a budget for all of 2015 without loosing momentum. :j0 -
Hi,went with Mr V to nearest town with shops and had a walk round whilst he was in a meeting.Bought a double duvet cover in 1970's stylee to back my patchwork for £2 from one of the 10 charity shops on the shopping street.
Also bought an easter egg for youngest from the co-op on offer.
Had my free Waitrose coffee and then we went to an Italian restaurant for their early bird menu.£12 for the two of us.
Also went to Morrisons and got 2 large jars of Dowe Egbert's coffee,2.49 each.Don't usually have a stock in but that was too good to miss.
Wee smiler, pass on the mc d's chips,my kids showed me a thing ont net where a chap in the US has had a burger and fries on his desk at work for over a year and they have not changed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't wash some clothes much. Some things which are put in the wash are sniffed, folded and returned;)
I have also bought a very old print of the Oxford skyline which I will have framed for my sons birthday along with a set of books I bought from a charity shop. When he was a student there he took me in a shop which sold old prints but they were very expensive as in hundreds of pounds. This is my not buying it version.;)£10
The snow is starting to melt now thank goodness, the pavements are lethal.

YAY!!! Our new Little Langley found her own way to bed tonight!! WOW what a clever little hen after only 2 days of being with us!! I waited just before it was getting dark for her to come to the back door again and peck at the door. But, she didn't, which for good!! I watched the others go up the garden and she slowly followed. She did stand outside the coop for a few minutes before going in with the others. When my husband went up to lock them in safely for the night she was snuggled up on the perches with the others, so had managed to sort that bit our too!! I am so pleased for her as I did not want her to rely on me taking her up every night as it would have singled her out from the others and she could have been picked on!! She has done so well!! What a super little hen she is!!!!
I have just read the Da*ly Mail article link that was posted tonight. (Ellidee, thank you for posting that!!) I just sat here reading it and cringing and nearly went up and changed my bed. It was only changed 5 nights ago but the thought of all those bugs!! YUK!!! Anyway, I don't wash my clothes every time I wear them either. I had a friend that used to wash items of clothes even if she wore them for a meeting for 2 hours. Needless to say her washing machine was on nearly every day!!!
There are 2 of us in our house, hubbie and I and we do 2 loads a week, one for bedding and another for the rest!!
How many loads do others do every week????

edwink on average I wash 1 white load, 1 bedding, 1 light/medium colours and 1 or 2 dark loads. Thre are 2 of us.
I am saving to:-
1. Pay off the cc's balances left after house alterations etc
2. We have a 5 day holiday booked for March
3. We have a cruise booked for the autumn plus I have to have money to pay for a car to take us to Southampton and the port trips which will be another £1k on top.
I aim to have all this done and paid for by December. I have dithered several times just lately wondering if I ought to cash in some ISA's to pay it all off now but I am currently getting 4.5% on a fixed rate deal which is no longer available to new savers so I would lose rather a lot of interest as well as the 90 days loss of interest for cashing in early. My ISA's also mature in December so if I miss my deadline to pay of the cc I can do it then anyway.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -

I wont bore everyone with my washing stories, at the moment I use a laundrette as I had a new kitchen put in last year by my landlord, the old one was actually crumbling, I have a new washing machine (well second hand), but it needs connected and that needs done after I get flooring down, which has been held up by one thing and another, my mums washing machine packed in too, shes had it repaired several times and thinks this time it really is kaput so we are the laundrette twins at the moment. I do enough washing to last me for a month or so at a time and if I need stuff like pants and socks washed, I'll hand wash them.
Other news, I spent 2.50 today on a jaegerbomb of all things after my bootcamp, I could have necked a bottle of JD after it, he worked us so hard, I am still very sore, but thats just the way I am just now. No more spends.
Didnt spend much yesterday either, £2 or so in the corner shop. Ive sold some stuff on ebay, you get stung with paypal and ebay fees, however, Ive sold £95 worth of stuff in the last 30 days, have 5 items to post tomorrow, at the moment how I feel about stuff is, well if Im getting rid of items from my flat, even if its one item at a time, its something else going to a good home.
Next trip to the laundrette will be to wash and dry the 50 or so remaining items of zumba clothing I have, lots of stuff thats only been tried on and get it on ebay.
Few more books to go to the CS and thats me given away almost every book I own to charity.0
