Gobsmacked!

Just a bit of a rant really.

My daughter (19) has been in a relationship with someone from her college course. All seemed well, he's been here a few times and seemed ok, a couple of little things that I couldn't put my finger on but kept out of it.

Last night he asked her to meet him after work along the sea front, she drove there and waited, and waited, he never turned up, he finally sent a text saying that a friend had asked him to help her sort her car insurance out so he had gone there, after all you've got to help a friend out. so, my daughter had sat in the car, late at night, on the sea front on her own.

Today it's come to light he's been seeing at least three girls, they've contacted each other and his lies are endless, he sent her an abusive text message, I told her to ignore him. About an hour later she received a message via Facebook from his mother! It was disgusting, full of abuse, foul language, I'm shocked and totally gobsmacked. What mother would defend any off spring behaving the way he has is beyond me, I'm far from happy.

Is it me or what? I'd never dream of sending something so disgusting.

I just wanted to get that off my chest :)

As he's used to lying, he may have told his mother any old story about how nasty your daughter was to him.

Suggest to your daughter that she blocks them both and moves on.

After she sent it she blocked my daughter then unblocked her to send another one, I think the woman's got a screw loose somewhere. My daughter has now blocked her. I'm just shocked that someone could send something so vile.
  • I'd block both from Facebook and both mobile numbers too. It's not acceptable, sadly too many male players about

She's blocked both of them from Facebook, She's already said she's not answering her phone to him or any unknown numbers. I just can't believe he's gone running to his mother like this, and for her to send such a vile message, well I'm shocked!

Why on earth his mother would get involved with something like this anyway is baffling. You daughter has been very fortunate that he turned out to be a loser otherwise she would of been stuck having to spend some time with the mother.

Little boys run to their Mummies -she's well rid.

Shame she has to see him at college but encourage her to keep her dignity and not kick off at him but just ignore him utterly as not worth the bother. If anyone asks she can tell them she mistook him for a grown up and say nothing more. If there is group work involved she can ask her lecturers (privately) to not put them in the same group.

I agree he's probably spun his mother a lot of nonsense.

    Facebook accounts can be 'hacked'.

I'd imagine that it's particularly easy to do in cases where there is a shared computer, and/or a close relationship which allows the 'hacker' to guess at - or even know - the other person's password.

It's even possible that a player could have created a Facebook account for his 'mum', to back up his stories

If the messages seem out of character for a/the mum, maybe they simply weren't written by her.

    There are.

But I don't think I'd give the other gender a whiter than white reputation if you want to generalise in such a strange way.

He could be like he is because of his mother. If he's her little darling who has never done anything bad and always has to have his own way because he's so special, he's going to be a nightmare. Lucky escape!

there are a lot of screwballs out there, and unfortunately facebook is just another platform for their outbursts.

tell her to ignore them and they will get bored eventually. however, if they persist, I would contact the college and the police.

sounds like your daughter had a lucky escape with this one!
