Free water on aeroplane

Hi all, I noticed a legislation came into force a few years ago regarding free water in eating establishments i.e if a restaurant/cafe/bar sold alcohol, then legally they have to provide a glass of tap water free of charge - if the customer requested one. I just wondered if this applied to Airline companies such as Ryanair and Easyjet? I know they are British companies and they serve alcohol to customers so I don't see why it shouldn't apply but just wondered if anyone knew the official stance on this?
Cheers, Mark.

not sure if I would drink anything out a tap on an aircraft0
-
Erm, I wouldn't think so as an aircraft has no access to mains water fit for drinking!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

If you value your health do not except any water that is not bottled on any aircraft, even the flight/cabin crew bring their own.0

No it didn't!
This parcel got passed down to local authorities to implement at local level via their licensing/planning conditions. So some did, some didn't. You would need to check the individual policies for the area concerned - and don't be surprised to find that even where this is is in the licensing conditions, compliance/enforcement can be quite pathetic.0 -
All airlines I have been on have free cooled "tap" water.
I have have drunk it many times and am still here, lots of scaremongering on here
i also drink free tap water in every restaurant, and many bars and clubs I have been in, again with no adverse effects0 -

Ive drunk tap water everywhere Ive been, including India , North Africa, UAE, and most of Europe without any problems.
In fact IMO one of the reasons EDINBURGH water always tasted so good was because it was delivered through LEAD pipes0 -

It isn't tap water though, it's bottled water cooler water.
The water stored in the tanks that feed the wash basin taps etc., is most definitely not drinking water.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
