Hi all
I have read the 'What's on the menu for Christmas Day' thread and Malanza has commented about one person posting 8 different vegetables to go with Christmas dinner.
So, to keep the spirit up, I wondered how many veg dishes you have .....let's include potato as well and list the veg!
I will kick off- we will have: 7 - well at least we will hit the 5 a day!
Roast spuds, carrot and swede mash, roast parsnips, braised red cabbage and sprouts

Almost the same - mash, roasties, carrots, swede, peas, sprouts. Just what we like.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

roast potatoes and roast parsnips. carrots, peas, sprouts and broccoli. Just the six but not everyone likes the sprouts and parsnips.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Depends on the number of pans & rings although some veggies double up...
The really contentious veg get shoved in the split serving dish so there clearly isn't enough for everyone & we can politely ignore unloved offerings. Like sprouts...0 -

Hi and happy cooking squirrelchops!
The seven and eight varieties of veg dishes I mentioned on the other thread were MINUS the spuds,
The amount of dishes needed to serve them up must be huge!0 -
Melanzana - apologies for quoting your user name incorrectly.
Certainly a heavy duty table would be needed for all that veg let alone the turkey!0 -
We are having sprouts and carrots, plus roast spuds. At a push we may do parsnips too.
We used to go the whole hog and have cauliflower cheese, peas etc etc but you just run out of space, lol. And we are all cutting down our portion size.Bossymoo

Roast potatoes, sprouts, parsnips, peas, sweetcorn, mashed potatoes, red cabbage and swede (but only for me as no-one else likes it!)0

No worries, as long as I'm not called "too early in the morning"!
I'd be more concerned about the heavy duty tummies, and we know that lots of veg can result in a rush to the little room...:rotfl:
And BTW I love veg... I have my faves though, and that's ok.

We do roast potatoes and parsnips carrots, green beans broccoli cauliflower sprouts maybe cabbage boiled potatoes.. never have to throw any away and the 4 tier on hob steamer comes in handy as does the hostess trolley which probably only gets used at Christmas.0
