I Have just sent an email to the Financial Ombudsmen regarding my claim as I was unable to afford the court way, and last week I received a letter stating Nationwide will pay me £150.00 less of what I was asking, so stupid me said No and I wanted the full amount they owe and not in their timescale of 4 to 6 weeks but mine within 7 days!
Now after tonight I feel a right !!!!! as I don't know if I'm going to get a single penny.
So I have emailed FOS asking if they are still carrying on with my claim and if it would help I will accept their lower amount as my partner has just left and I know I will be struggling as a single mum again and I really don't want to incur charges again!!!
I really hope that Martin will be able to put our minds at rest, although I do feel the panic in the forum! It's the same here in my sitting room!
Keep going everyone, I am sure Martin will point us in the right direction soon.
He is only 1 man but hey wot a man!!
thanks

I have £18,000 of claims in train
this will be a massive "from now on", not-retrospective, watered down, can't go past 6 years etc etc... we will be good boys from now on..... fat cats... government...monsterous whitewash........ It will drag on for a long time
and we all end up with.... almost nothing
that woman Angela Knight who is head of bankers association
wants lessons in humility. She is truely dreadful
they wheel her out as a spokesman who answers no questions
Imagine having to be married to that
Martin should have jumped over the desk and..........0 -
It seems the banks are in agreement to take this to court, it stems the tide for the moment. The questions that seem pertinent to me (as an amateur) are: Those who have a first offer may feel forced to cut and run where before they would continue for a fairer offer. The banks are looking for a high admin charge so they can trade off against those who have a case pending or the banks are looking to have something in their favour that they can backdate and reduce costs that way. I have just started my claim, I am expecting a reasonable result.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.0 -

They may threaten to have a test case heard but I bet the Banks wont turn up unless a subpena is served on them...more time for them to earn interest on your money..0

I am just about to take my daughters case to the next stage. Getting the Court papers re Barclays.
Do I still go ahead? MM
As well as the above, I sent (2 days ago) the 40 days letter asking for charge details on my daughter's BarclayLOAN account.
Are they still obliged to send these?
Please, I would appreciate answers to these two questions. Many thanks MM0 -
As MCOL have refunded my fee they have already saved Nationwidw £120, the way I see it Nationwide have been stubborn enough to use the court system to delay paying people and quite happy to pay the court fees on top of the claims of the persistent claimants ( Money that ultimately belongs to their members )
If, as I suspect they have refunded fees on pending claims the courts have now saved the banks millions at the expense of the courts, and who pays for the courts ?
Yep thats it, all of us the already overburdened British Taxpayer.
THE BANKS HAVE ONLY THEMSELVES AND THEIR GREED TO BLAME0 -
well I would...I just put in an amendment to claim and I have yet to Cc: the solicitors, but am still going to do it...it was stated somewhere that if a precedent is set anybody wishing to get charges back will still have to claim for them anyway..0

Please read what the the FO has put on their site as to the guidelines that the FSA have set for the banks and what they must follow until this is resolved. It covers most questions....
