OFT and Banks to decide on "fair charge"

it may be a drop in the ocean but they wont give it up easily and they WILL want it back from somewhere and i cant see the government parting with the cash0

Look, they know they are going to win why do you think they have done it
how can they stall, lie manipulate figures , send you letters that mean nothing for months on end and now this
They have already sorted the outcome behind closed doors, something like this on such a scale regarding vast amounts on money, all comes about without nobody knowing about it at 7pm at night
not a chance ..
its a con just like everything else to do with banks and this country as a whole
it will probably take years to sort out and all of us with claims in progress will get nothing i assure you ...
what a joke .
I can just imagine the letters the banks are sending out to everyone right now as we all moan about it with a big grin on there faces ....0 -
Again like many i recieved an offer from barclays bank 10th july, which i accepted straight away, so now waiting for the between 14-21 days for the amount to be paid into my account. will this this happen??..... :rolleyes:0

Your request for statements is not affected by this. You are asking for them under the data protection act, and should write to the information commissioner immediately, then take them to court for the statements and compensation.0 -
Oh well, just started the 14 days waiting between serving papers against Lloyds TSB and court! Like others I am now not sure what is going on. I can only assume that Lloyds will issue a defence and not attend, I will then have to go and fight it out? As the test case is not directly related to my county court case then it will still roll on and we will se what happens.
UI would like others before me welcome sensible suggestions to where we now stand.0 -
Unbelievable. I just sent my £100 fee to Brighton County Court today, together with the claim calculations to them and to Cobbetts in Manchester -- by courier, because of the postal strike, which set me back £35.
This is a true Victor Meldrew "I don't believe it!" moment, and although the long-term effect may be for the benefit of all banking customers, right now I just feel sick to my stomach.0 -
Bad news:-(
Can anyone help on this:-
"However, the banks will still need to make a note of any claims lodged, and will have to honour offers to settle claims that were made before the test case and waiver were announced."
I have had an offer and that's as far as we have got, does that mean I can still accept as now I'm willing to settle, to avoid the undoubtedly shady future ruling.
Anyone know the answer to this?0 -
Can anyone confirm the date of this trial case are we talking soon, as was suggested in a previous posting or it several weeks, months away?0
-
Believe me I can understand everyone's concern but no-one knows the answers to any of these questions as yet.
Please read the links already posted to the FO and OFT websites as to what they anticipate will/might happen to cases already in the pipeline.0
