  • I have to say I have read the article and I think while i agree to a point with Martin, I think that the claims should continue to go in. This is the advice of other charges sites and I hope that Martin, after analysing the announcement today, will advise the same(although i would not prejudge that). If it gets to court stages the Judge is the ultimate person who can decide whether to stay cases.

oh wel what the he** whats another 4 month wait...i already waited 6 months and am sure some alot longer.
  • Does anyone know of any ethical banks!

What about starting one, I'm sure lots of people would willingly join!

It seems that all institutions of one sort or another are riding the greedy train and loving every mile they travel!

The co-op was supposed to be an ethical bank but even they've bought a ticket for the greedy train!

What about us poor workers who have no choice but to use these robbing *****.

I was wondering the same thing....or if it is possible to avoid using a bank completely?

lets say for arguments sake the courts set a precedent and state by the oft for instance a charge may be no more than £12....for those going through the court process having paid the fee and claiming interest..do we lose this??
  • Hi,

been an avid follower for a while and am curently trying to get almost £2k out of Barclays.

Todays announcement is a little disconcerting, one of the main problems with it is if the banks can suspend all ongoing claims surely they should have to suspend all charges.

    Does anyone else agree?

    Martin, how about you?

    Hi,

So can i get this straight..

Ive already began the court route and had RBS served with a claim, I am now waiting for the 14 days to expire so I win by default (unless i receive a reply)

Now does this anouncement mean that I cannot win by default regardless of RBS replying or not? This seems rediculous, not to mention a waste of my money!

Also, should RBS actually put forward a defence, will this announcement now mean the court will automatically refuse to pass judgement?

If anybody has any clearer answers for me i'd really appreciate it.

    Thank you all

    GMB
  • No, the likelyhood is that the bank will defend and at some point on the claiming route that the case may be stayed pending the outcome of the OFT test case.
