SPC #73 Feb NSD 0/200 -
Evening all. This morning started off fairly nice and with a little sun. Cloudy just before mid-day and now cloudy and raining!!Off to a BBQ later as it's OH's birthday today - thought I best let him have a day off laying the patio
You're so kind. :rotfl:
Pass on the Birthday wishes and don't forget his pressie tonight.
Potted 2 x £2 coins = £4. I have about an inch and a bit left in my pot, so I'll need something for the last couple of months.
I'm really looking forward to the last £100 and if I get to £300 in £2 coins, I'll stop potting them and concentrate on £1 coins.
Less than 15 weeks to go or 14 weeks on Thursday until "pay day".

A very good morning to you all Potters! I hope you all had a brilliant weekend. Take good care of yourselves, everyone, keep safe, healthy and...happy! Love and {{{hugs}}} to all those in need of them, take special care of yourselves....but keep saving well if you can!
I had an amazing weekend, filled with lovely small things, most of it with nature and just wonderful!
So, some good and some bad news then, Selene, I'm really pleased it didn't cost as much as thought and at least your DR is going to pay for his/her prang-up. Not bad overall! BTW, re your buying chocolate and chastising yourself, instead why not leave the choccy and pot the money instead as a reward?!DreamerHelen wrote: »Yep, you're absolutely right Sue....Worrying doesn't do ANY good whatsoever....So there isn't much point in worrying until there is actually something to worry about!!
Aww you must be soooooooooooo proud of your DD for saving all that lovely Money and now she can spend it on something wonderful....
Keep bearing that bit of advice in mind, Helen, then whenever something appears to go wrong..remember NOT to be concerned until it actually does - IF it does! I used to be the same as you and worried myself sick, mostly about smoking - then managed to give up and have always had a far more positive attitude to life ever since - why not.
Yes, I am so very proud of my darling girl, she's done marvellously! :happyloveI am gutted that I won't earn enough to even get to work when I return but hey every little bit helps a? The truly upsetting bit is that I will have to use my mortgage savings to get to work and pay the £100 short on my wages each month - not entitled to any help with childcare etc. Hopefully the boyfriend can help.
I'll get a holding pot going again
I'll have to just bear in mind that there are people a lot worse off than me and that I'm lucky to be debt free (paid my car off 3 years early a couple of months ago).
Hicksy - That last bit is so true. Surely if you're not even earning enough to get to work and will have to use your mortgage savings to get to work and pay the £100 short on your wages each month you'd be better off not working and enjoying caring for your little boy instead?! Either that or look into getting a job closer to home. Glad you're staying with us though - and well done with that £6.97 saved!!Have a word with your BF.
Anyone having issues with ants?? We have loads and I've never seen as many flying ants!! I'll get them though - they won't win.
Sadly no problems with ants here, Lynsey, everyone keeps killing them off! I know they're a pest really I do, but do try hard to tolerate them as they'll soon be gone; trouble is they are a vital link to all our nature so we need them desperately!! Even some Butterflies depend on them to bury their eggs where they slowly grow into caterpillars. Quite amazing isn't it, so do try your best to look upon them as nature's treasures.BTW, only 14 weeks to go until 5th November?!! By heck how time flies!
evo5819 wrote:Can you reduce my target on the 1st post to £300 please Sue? Think I got a bit carried away with 500 in only three months...going to go for £100 a month :j
Ok, Evo, your Target has been updated so good luck with achieving it.Kerry_Woman wrote:Sue - Great news regarding your daughter's savings.
I have been using the challenge to boost my savings for my future. I do regularly put money into my savings, so anything extra from this challenge is a bonus. My long term goal is to save so that I can move to another area. I do have another account that I put money away each month for Christmas.
Thank you so much, Kerry. You've got a very wise head on your shoulders and I wish you the very, very best in making your hopes come true at a time you wish. It's good to hear the plans and dreams of others. Very best wishes, Kerry! :grinheart
I've got a great picture of you literally wring out your hair now, 32b3! What some bloomin weather we've had...more to come too, still farmers would argue that we need it, though even they would sooner have had it earlier in the summer and be having the sun now. Not to worry, we can't change it, sadly.Great savings! :T
girlatplay wrote:I either read, or someone said to me (memory just gets worse and worse) recently: It is pointless worrying. If it doesn't happen you have been worrying for nothing. If it does happen, worrying won't fix it. So Helen give up with the worrying! IF something happens, you just have to deal with it as and when. If it doesn't happen, fantastic!! (((hugs)))
That was me...when giving Helen a little jog last week, GAP, now you've now endorsed it so hopefully she will take notice of us both! BTW, Well done on potting the walking to work savings - any chance you could do it more often and gradually save a small fortune?!
I wondered what had happened to you, scotmumof3, good to see you back - and WOW, what some savings! Very well done.tatabubbly wrote:Hi all! Haven't been here in a very long time but I just wanted to thank this challenge for helping me save my coppers. I've opened my jar as I'm getting married soon and needed the, coppers to pay their way! €120 on the way for the photo booth which I am delighted about!!!
Any more money I have between now and opening day will be towards Christmas! So nice to know I'll have a few coppers towards some presents!
Lovely to see you, tatabubbly, and great news about the 120 Euros for your Wedding photos!!! You might thank us here, but it was you who did the saving, so, very well done you! If your Wedding is before November (and I expect it is) then have a wonderful day and a safe, healthy life together!
Good for you with your crafty goings on, jakes-mum, did you ever get your Gran's blanket done! BTW, there are lots of patterns/videos on Pinterest.
Very good saving money on a DIY with your patio, Chutney, it'll soon be looking really lovely and you'll all be so proud! Pleased to hear your DH had a wonderful Birthday.
FANTASTIC SAVINGS, everyone, you really are ALL doing brilliantly!!!! Keep going as best you can.Enjoy a lovely Monday, Potters! Keep making those pots tinkle!

I'd love to drop a day at work Sue - he can go nursery 2 days a week, 2 days with grandparents and threee days with me. But I was moved o a different company when I whilst on maternity leave and I don't want them to use it as an excuse to de mote me (as i would mean a £6,000 drop in wages). I was concidering reducing my days by an hour or two so that I get valuable time with him each day. I d don't know it's all a mess.
I think I will go, see what it's like and if they continue to be unreasonable towards me then I will leave.
I completed a new CV last night - which I'm tweaking as LO naps.SPC#19 - 7-£666.54, 8-£489, 9-£264 10-£376 11- £305.8p 12 £329 13 - £315 14/£214 15 £177 16 £253 SPC 17 £0 of £250
