My signature is finally up-to-date with my potting total thus far.
I finally gave in and downloaded Excel on my phone and started a more basic sheet. This means i am no longer going to track how much i save each month but just keep a grand total. I'll change my mind again soon i'm sure. I love re-working spreadsheets!
Potted a fair old chunk whilst i was at it too!!Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Hiya - you're right, I hadn't noticed that before

However, I think you tend to get the warmer sunshiny stuff, whilst we get the easterlies here and that keeps it cooler, plus all the cloudy stuff. I don't know about you today but we are 17 degrees with 25mph on-shore winds so windows and doors firmly closed.
On Friday it was lovely here. On Saturday we had a mixed bag including ridiculous rain first thing! Yesterday was similar and today it hasn't rained (yet
), it is cloudy but mild.

Afternoon all.
owlet - welcome and good luck, £1 and £2 coins really help.
Helen - keep that chin up ............................ and listen to better music.
We've (yes, both of us) started 5/2 diet. 2 diet days are Monday (today) and Tuesday. See if we can get past week 1. :rotfl:
Hopefully doing it for 4 weeks, just to see if any results. Salads today, soup tomorrow - for main meals.
Potted 1 x £2 coin and 7 x £1 coins = £9 - £21 more to find this week.
Weather not as good here now and after a good early start. Not complaining though.

LoL Lynsey...that made me giggle....In my defence it's the only Twisted Sister Song that I know (that I'm aware of)...and it's brilliant when I'm feeling defiant
But right now I'm listening to "The Great Pretender" by Queen...is that better hun? LoL
Managed to Pot £1.05 today...so I'm pleased with that....
Welcome to Owlet...Great to have you here with us hun...Do let us know how you get on

Evening all SPCers! I hope you've all had a smashing weekend. What some weather with Tuesday and Wednesday's heat, and then the storms...that we didn't have.
I hope those of you who love them enjoyed them, but...kept safe! Ready tor the week ahead?! :j No! Oh well, not to worry. Take good care of yourselves, everyone, and keep as safe and as healthy as you can. Love and {{{hugs}}} to all those who are in need of them, take special care of yourselves.
It's so good to hear you enjoyed a lovely holiday, scotmumof3. Things with DD are much the same, but until she (hopefully) gets a little treatment at least then they're not going to improve at all. Not to worry, at least we're all coping with it and the kiddies help by gently taking the Mickey out of her, especially with the stuttering that's now developed.Westie983 wrote:£5 potted to round up my pot - half way point and I'm feeling good :-)
That's just great news, Westie, you stay like that. Another fan making the most of Wimbledon and the grace of Roger etc then, what a man!
WOW Lost - £61.76 added to your pot is amazing!!!! :T
Very best wishes with your weight loss goal, Dragon Lily, you CAN do it!!! Was it you that attempted to or gave up the puffing?? Did you succeed? Anyway, you just stay strong and think of the difference you'll see and notice with the extra weight shifted. We'll all be cheering you on.
That's some fantastic saving, Lynne, VERY well done indeed!!!! :j
Brilliant to hear about your tax gain, Daddybear!
Nice potting, Lynsey, and I bet it felt good to put some of the compensation cash in. Good luck with your 4 x £30 goal, the diet too for you both, you're a determined lady with money so hopefully you should lose some Lbs along with saving £s. The weather sounded really bad with you, the only trouble with thunder storms is that torrential rain. Fingers crossed for good weather on Thursday so your plans to visit the Northumberland coastal towns and or villages comes to fruition.
Thank Heaven for this cooler week's respite, jakes-mum, a welcome relief for sure. You take care of yourself, I have to admit that it affects my condition too, so indoors is where I'm best off. Whatever would we do without air con in our cars!
Don't worry, Save Dosh, at least you're still managing to save, and if it's only smaller amounts - it's better saved then frittered away, be happy!
32b3in2013 wrote:I am siting in my running gear waiting for it to start raining and it isn't doing so yet. Its far to hot to be running so I wanted to be ready for when the rain starts. It is supposed to have rained here today, but it didn't. Its still really hot.
Thank goodness you were sensible, 32b3, many here were still daft enough to run at lunch time last week, mad fools, don't they realise the perils of doing so!
At least you can catch up on your training this week. Take care!
It's good to see you potting well, alisont, another avid saver in the making. :j
Keep regularly putting small amounts in your pot, Baby Angel, you'll be happy come November 5th.
Keep it going, Chutney!DreamerHelen wrote:Am I allowed to say that I'm currently listening to a Christmas Song??

LoL....sorry!!
In a word......NO, NO and a 100 times NO!!!!! You seem to be handling the rough times more easily nowadays, Helen, and you know that keeping as busy or as active as possible is a wonderful distraction so keep at it and do your absolute best to ignore the not to great times, they're not worth it. You'll get there, and as you know shopping is fantastically therapeutic so go more often with your Mum and enjoy her company...though don't spend too much! Of course saving is also great therapy so keep doing that...so you can spend later on IF you want to!! Be careful about which music/songs to play when you're already feeling low, do your best to have some happy tracks to pop on, it's amazing how they lift your mood.
Oh that's splendid saving, Kerry, you're going great guns as always!
Well saved and banked, Modesty.Pollygarter wrote:I trust my kids, they are a good bunch and know if they need money we can discuss how they are going to afford something they want. (And hopefully through this process work out they don't need exactly what they thought they wanted!). Equally I don't want a hundred quid or so sat on the side when all their mates trapse past. Not a good position to put anyone in.
So far I have banked £200 and there is £21 in the pot. Coming along really well and the kids are loving it.
A very wise view indeed, Pollygarter, time also is a good way to make youngsters think twice and decide that, really...they never needed it at all. I still use that "need over want" method myself, usually works too! A wise move with the savings too, erring on the side of caution.
Great to hear your DH's Birthday went so well, Vicky, there are always times when we just have to splash out a bit, but as you say, you're back on the wagon now...so stay put!!Saver-upper wrote:Oh,Sue-UU I am sooooooooooo naughty.I have been away for suuuuch a long time, and I owe my pot lotttttttttttttttts of money.I have some to add :j.I am sorry, and will you have me back??
About to add £17.50 to the pot,but there is more to follow....
Ummm.... I'm thinking about that, Saver-upper, shocking behaviour, but...oh all right then you've won me over. Now, get on and save every penny and pay your SPC IOUs back!!!!! Good to see you at last.
If using spreadsheets makes you happy, Ruth, you go ahead and use one, anything like that does is good I'm sure.
£10 in the pot after shopping and £2 I wangled from DH that was in his back pocket. He said I wasn't having it as he needed it for CPing, but....guess who won!!Have a good night's and a happy Tuesday, Potters! .....and keep filling those pots!
