Hi all...well I've been quietly potting and have been to the building society twice to bank pot contents. I have a houseful of teens and teen visitors so I just felt it was better for everyone if there is never too much in the pot.
I want my kids to know it is there as I encourage them to put in the odd silver coin...the proceeds will help fund a big holiday we are planning to celebrate a big birthday and hopefully my getting out of debt. So I don't want it hidden away, think it is encouraging the saving habit and they will all feel invested when we buy a drink or a trip on our holiday and they will remember putting in something from a babysitting job or setting up the market and other bits and bobs they earn a little cash from.
I trust my kids, they are a good bunch and know if they need money we can discuss how they are going to afford something they want. (And hopefully through this process work out they don't need exactly what they thought they wanted!). Equally I don't want a hundred quid or so sat on the side when all their mates trapse past. Not a good position to put anyone in.
I once had a lodger who had £300 in cash stolen when a workman at my house brought along a "mate" who he didn't know who went through all her stuff and stole. This has always made me very careful with cash at home.
So far I have banked £200 and there is £21 in the pot. Coming along really well and the kids are loving it.Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950
Debts down £12,700 high in Feb 2015, £10,700 April 15, £8830 May 15, £6776 June 15 , £5857 July 15 £6970 1.3.16

Hello! :hello: I'm back from the wilderness. DH had a *big* birthday and there was no way that, with all the festivities that I'd be able to pot - all spare pennies were put into putting together his party.
However, I'm back on the wagon - DH has potted approximately £8 and I potted £1.05. We're on it!!!!
Hope everyone is keeping ok. xxSealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Hi everyone,
I know I'm a bit late but can I join in? I've had two sealed pots going since just before christmas. One is £1 & £2 coins, the other one is everything else!
I have no idea how much is in each pot though, I just keep adding to it using change from my purse or roadkill etc.
Hope it's ok to join in, it will be fun to save with you all :-)SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

You are never too late owlet. Pull up a seat. Sue_UU will be along to give you a number, but in the meantime, have a look at the first post on page one for a few tips on what you need to do, which is saving. Welcome aboard
