Cabby, keep the money in there, after all why not! I've got an image of your fish - he sounds extremely HUNGRY as if he needs perpetually feeding!!!! :rotfl: Keep feeding him well!!! ;)

Thanks Sue! I'll be visiting an HSBC with a coin counter next week so I can't resist totalling up, the money banked will go towards the contents of DD's Christmas Eve box :)

Have a wonderful evening, Ruth, a delicious meal too. It sounds as though you in a dress is a rare sight....be careful you don't put it on back to front!!! I bet you check to be sure now!!!! :rotfl:

It is a rare sight and i did indeed check!! I think i need to make it more of a thing. I only own 1 dress that fits me and only own 1 pair of shoes that go with it, unfortunately they are heels.... I always feel too dressy in a dress to wear it on a normal day.......

But the evening was great :) the food was good as was the company. The highlight was a lady that i had been talking to that evening (essentially a total stranger) turned to my parents and told them i'm a lovely girl and if they ever want rid of me she'll take me in haha...... i think it was a compliment.

Well done on the £10 potting. I think you're in for another great year. I thought about what you said about £20 a week would give £1000 over the year. I'm always quick to work it out for others but the thought had never occurred to me regarding my own savings. I know i cant just add money from my wages to my pot so i am going to transfer £20 to my isa every week if i can. I never usually like to put less than £100 a time in but i realise now how silly this is :o

Remember i said my nieces and nephew refused to eat out on Christmas Day because nowhere has nanny's turkey stuffing? Well they are aged 20, 18 and 17. They should know better. We are all staying in anyway, so I suppose it saves me money!!

My mum makes the best stuffing in the whole world ever (sorry). Me and 2 of my sisters (i'm 25 and my sisters are 21 and 34) have my mum make us her stuffing to have with our dinner :D As i am constantly saying, she is a very good lady!!!

Adding £1.05 to the pot from my purse.

It sounds like a great thing to do with it, Cabby, exciting times, especially for your DD! :D

Good for you, Aphidgirl, it's amazing how quickly we all want to get those coins in. :j

Thanks for sorting out your No, Hoipolloi, much appreciated. :) You're a fully fledged member now for certain! :D

So glad to hear it was such a success, Ruth, and that you enjoyed dressing up. :happylove It's amazing how far away from dresses we come in this modern day of jeans/trousers so I've got to admit, it's lovely to feel far more like a lady. Are you sure that was a compliment from the lady who offered to take you in? Your parents hadn't paid her upfront?? :rotfl:
Strange how we all have favourites with stuffing, my DH's is fantastic and whenever else we have it, it always reminds me of Christmas Day! He's a marvellous cook! :kisses3: Thanks for your thoughts re my potting, O sincerely hope you're right. Good luck with whichever way you do yours. ;)

By heck milky, you did wonderfully - keep it up wherever possible!

Gosh, this thread is running fast. I kept up last year as it was a little slower but I only missed reading yesterday and I had 4 pages to catch up on!!

Little Miss Gap saw my new pot for the first time yesterday (it is not hidden, she just hadn't noticed). She said "Awww that's a really cute pot." I said "Thanks. It is my sealed pot for this year." She said "Yeah, it looks like something you would find in a kid's bedroom." :o I love it though :D

7p in the "childish" pot today! :)

Don't worry Gap. It will slow down in a few weeks. Its all the new thread madness!! Also, people are seeing the reminder thread and coming out of the wood work too. It's been the same every year :) don't let it discourage you from keeping involved.

Oh dear i need money to pot now....... Oh yes i went for lunch so have 30p change woop!!

Thank you. I was really proud of myself for keeping up last year. I just had a wee panic as I wasn't on last weekend and there were about 7 pages to catch up on! Then 4 pages since Tuesday. If I miss thanking anyone it isn't on purpose :)
