Scotmum...that is REALLY good news, CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm really pleased to hear that it's not the terrible news that you were scared of!!
I went to the Doctors this morning....she was quite positive and said there are lots of things to try to help me with my health problems so fingers crossed I will start to feel better VERY soon...
I Potted just over £2 yesterday....and £1.05 tonight...so that's not bad....and I can't complain at that0 -
Just a quick question to 'old time' potters.
Do you take your 'weighty' money bags of potted cash to the bank at the end of the year or dip into the cash for Xmas etc? I was imagining turning up at my bank with money bags of 50p, £1 etc and being the most popular customer (not) in the queue! :rotfl:

Think banks dont have a limit on coin bags now we don't. I'm planning to cash mine into my credit card come Xmas to pay off my purchases, thus get cashback rewards but not scrambling for those pennies in January and dreading the January bill coming through the door.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Scotmumof3, so happy to hear your good news. Hope they can help with the dysplasia.
Potted £1.36 last night, 10p of which was roadkill.
Welcome to our new potters.
Hugs to all in need of one.
ETA: Just looked up dysplasia, it's Barrett's Esophagus which my DH has been having tests for for years. Good luck to your DH with the endoscopy. :eek:S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50

A very Good Morning, everyone, What a glorious day yesterday! DH & I were so fortunate as we'd already planned to get out for the day, and we had a fantastic time in the sun with the wildlife we love. Have a good Wednesday, and anyone not be feeling well or poorly in any other way, take great care and here's hoping you will be very much better soon. For now, here are some special {{{hugs}}} to help you through. Take care, all Potters, save cash as often as you can!
Brilliant work with your copper cash, dreamingofmoney, that'll swell your savings!!
Good to see you, Anna, and well done!Westie983 wrote:£5 added today, from banana purchase,
Loving putting notes in to get coins back, becoming a little bit of a issue....
Give into the addiction, Westie, as that's what it is that you've got!! :j
Fantastic new about your win, Woodster.....and for changing it into coins to save!
Don't knock "only potted £4 odd", Woodster, as if you only saved that much each week it still makes quite a difference to times like Christmas when cash is short. "Only" isn't a word used on SPC.Baby_Angel wrote:We started off together on this challenge to overpay the mortgage. Later it turned out the money would be better in the mortgage account than in the pot, due to interests on the mortgage. In fact he is contributing to that now with his little savings/roadkill.
I have full control of the finances. He does an amazing job on the grocery spending, should I say, savingon the money that I give him every month. Can't ask more than that from my wonderful DH :A
I potted £1.50 yesterday. Went home half day and potted the off peak savings I would have otherwise spent on the peak hour tube fare.
Ah, I see what you mean, Baby Angel, in that case he sounds like quite a canny chap for sure!! Best wishes to you both with the mortgage, and well done on the peak savings! Much better in your pot! :j£1.04 potted for me today
Good news!! Dhs biopsy has shown he has dysplasia of the vocal chords and although the doctors will have to keep an eye on him from now on there is no sign of cancer. I can't tell you how relieved we are
That's excellent news, scotmumof3!!! :j I just quickly googled it and can see why they will need to keep an eye on him, but even so it's still such a relief for you both to know it's not cancer! I'm truly delighted for you!!
Hi Modesty, well done with your potting. Re scotsmumof3's DH, I didn't see anything about the Barrett's Esophagus (a friend of ours has that) being connected with the throat dysplasia so will be interested to see what scotmumof3 says. All best wishes to your DH as I know the Endoscopy's aren't great to have, but are marvellous!DreamerHelen wrote:I went to the Doctors this morning....she was quite positive and said there are lots of things to try to help me with my health problems so fingers crossed I will start to feel better VERY soon...
Excellent news for you too, Helen!! It's so good to know things are looking good - savings wise too! You're on course for a GREAT year if you're able to stick to saving as you are now!Dragon_Lily wrote:Just a quick question to 'old time' potters.

Hi Dragon Lily, the highlighted part above is exactly what we all do after having counted up our savings. Get plenty of the plastic bags from the bank prior to Nov 5th, so you're ready to count up - and make sure you have the correct amounts per bag! If you look at a bag (anytime before) it will tell you how much of each denominations should be in a bag. Most of us take our bags to the bank/post office over a few days, that way you're not the customer everyone dreads! Though they can tell how much is in each by weighing so it's no great problem. Any problems with your bank the "spread the love" by using other banks too!! :rotfl:Also, most banks have machines that you can simply put your money into and receive the notes etc after. So, there you are, many options and much excitement to look ahead to!
Brilliant work, savings my hobby! Keep it going and - buzzing!Enjoy Wednesday, SPCers, even if it's a wet, one and save well whenever possible!

Hullo guys - I've been very quiet on the potting challenge as I have been saving like MAD for the dog's operations which happen on the 24th so there has been no spare for anything else but that. However I am determined NOT to touch either of my 2 pots (one full and hidden in a wardrobe, t'other in my kitchen cupboard) as come Christmas when Reggie is better and the financial strain of the last couple of months is a distant memory I will be really glad to have my sealed pots.
So today I am potting 15p LOLwhat is it they say about little acorns?
