Glad to hear it's all over Helen, I hope you have a good night's sleep - do take it easy tomorrow.
I've potted 2 £2 coins today and also all my coins under £1. All together £5.35
I did go out to lunch with a friend today (£6.05) - I'm finding I'm eating out less since starting my sealed pot.

Thank You Everyone for your lovely get-well Wishes...
I'm feeling MUCH MUCH MUCH better this morning....at least so far...which is goodI managed to sleep until just after 4am this morning....and then Worked for a while...and then went out to do a little bit of Shopping....and now I'm back and working from home for the rest of today, tomorrow and Sunday....
Tomorrow night I'm off out for my Birthday Meal with my Mum, Grandparents and Uncle...which should be nice....but I didn't want to Book too much in for this Weekend as I didn't know how I was going to be after the Operation....
So I'm really just taking it VERY easy....which is nice
Soooooooo....I was able to Pot £2.45 just now....Which is the Result from my little Shopping Trip out....but that should be it until Monday as I don't get anymore Money until then...
Hope everyone is well....and bearing up in this FREEZING cold Weather!! And I hope you ALL have a WONDERFUL Weekend xXx0 -
Hello
I started a new pot in December when I moved into my first flat so I'd like to join this challenge. The goal is basically just to save money without dipping into the savings unnecessarily -- used to have an ISA with my bank but seeing how much money was in my savings was too tempting. I'd go, "Oh, I've saved X amount in Y days, I can treat myself to this or that and just save it again!" so I'm hoping that not knowing how much is in my sealed pot will help remove temptation
I have a newbie question too, if it's possible for a seasoned potter to clarify? In the rules it says this: "Likewise any money put directly into the bank cannot be counted as savings with SPC." My wages go into my bank, and I'm hoping to start a routine where, the day before payday, I withdraw whatever's left in my account (since if I haven't spent it, I don't need it) and put it into my sealed pot. Would this break the rules?
Also adding £50 into my pot today! The water meter in my new flat is faulty so SWW are sending someone out to exchange it for a new one and they've said they won't charge me for what I've used as the fault is on their end :T Don't know how much I'll spend on water as I have no history, but they've said the average is £25 a month so that's £50 saved on my water bill :jSPC #0800 -
Welcome Miami to the SPC. You've already read Post One by the sounds of it, Sue will be pleased. Please remember to subscribe to the thread so we don't lose you. You will receive a number off Sue of your own, please put it on your signature. That is most important.
To answer your question, any money you save in your pot should be valid. It is a good idea to take it from your account and pot it as, if you haven't used it, it is savings.S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50

Hellooooooooooooo Miami  welcome to SPC8, our one and only keeper of the keys and grounds of SPC Sue will be along shortly to give you your very own one of a kind number.
Taking money out to put in your pot is fine, its more along the lines of, if your great aunt muriel suddenly decides to gift you £2k as a cheque and you pay it into your bank you can't then add it to your total as money potted IYSWIM, its only for money that actually goes in the magic money savings pot
