Sorry not to have been with you for the last couple of days, folks, I've not been well but I'm ok now and back!
I hope everyone is as well as possible and not too badly affected by the weather, though I know full well that many of you must be to an extent, especially all of you in Scotland and the northern counties. Take care, ALL, and do keep warm enough!
[Quote=Crazieblu]I'm so glad I googled money tins and found fellow savers. I now feel like part of a community therefore more able to save without dipping.
So lovely to hear, Crazieblu, I'm sure you'll be very happy here with us. A great start to your savings too. :j
An excellent amount of cash saved in ONE day, 32b3, very good indeed!! :T
It's good to see so much of you, mumof3plusoh, though maybe not how SW think!! :rotfl: I hope you get more motivation with your Mum helping.
I'm really glad you had temp work for the last 2 days, Kerry, all the best for more ASAP.scotmumof3 wrote:£1 potted for me today. I am going out for my birthday lunch courtesy of DH and having takeaway tonight paid for with my birthday money so there might be a little more to pot later
So sorry this is a little late, scotmumof3, but belated Happy Birthday wishes to you! I hope you had a delicious meal and and lovely day.Hoipolloi wrote:Been thinking, I had the lofty idea I would add only notes or gold coloured coins, but I am not going to save that much or that often if I wait for spare ones of those. Have decided that I will save all loose coins and any notes I can afford to put in.
I feel better now I've made that decision.
I won't keep a running total for this but will post on here what I am adding each time.
It sounds the very best way to save, Hoipolloi, great thinking!! :j
I very much appreciate your thinking, Baby Angel, re the bank refund; a very good idea to put the rest in your 'other debts/overpayment'!! Well done on getting it! Good lunch savings too, think of doing so more often and you'll end up saving a fortune!
We always measure the width of our oven before getting a new roasting dish, jakes-mum, sounds somewhat different though to buy the cooker to equip the dish, but then you are unique!!! :rotfl:
So good to hear about your tip, Daydreamers, but you must have deserved it!!lynnejk wrote:I'm in need of a bit of support as had a mail overnight from my DS with a video clip. He is in some remote village, near Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra and the river has risen and is rushing past the door. They have been told to grab their bags and evacuate for higher ground as last year the river rose further and wiped out the village. They are surrounded with jungle so my mind is in overdrive. Obviously he is now out of contact !!
You're getting plenty of {{{hugs}}} from me too, Lynne, I'm so sorry to hear of your Son's predicament and your distress, I hope you hear some good news VERY soon. As Helen say, take plenty of calming deep breaths when feeling particularly stressed. :kisses3:
Maybe having the weekend off isn't such a bad a bad idea for you both, Saver-upper, you need a break. All the best for Tuesday.
Concentrate fully on the top of the world feeling, Helen! 15 lengths swimming is very good indeed, try it more often as exercise certainly does all of us a power of good and gets the endorphins going!! If :j I were that affected by the Dr Pepper I'd say tata to it permanently as long term it can't be doing you any good!! The withdrawals will soon go and you'll feel much better as well as lose weight! Brilliant work in even more saving, what a week you've had with it!!!!
Why not join the MSE £2 challenge, so very confused, you could also include all you get into your SPC Total in November!tizzi13 wrote:Sue can I change my target to £1000 as my ebaying is going well so far so I think I can push myself to £1000 :-) thanks
No problem as all, tizzi, I've already updated it, so all the best in achieving it!!!Have a wonderful weekend, folk! Keep warm ALL and do please STAY SAFE!!!
Sue x
NB: SPC Savers: 5th November will be the new 2015 opening date!

Aye Sue, my mother always said they broke the mold with me when they made me . . . not sure she was being polite to me though :rotfl: its not the first time i've bought something to fit round something i already own, our house was bought because it fit our super king size bed in the master bedroom :rotfl: estate agent thought we were joking when we said it had to fit any house we saw, until we pulled out the tape measure and started measuring the floor space
I actually need a new oven and have always had one of those double ones but want one of the single ones that is the size of a double (IYSWIM) so all the lovely tins that I have bought over the years that don't fit will go in lovely
£3.32 saved on fuel today so into the pot its gone with an extra 3p as I didn't have an odd 2pSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Potted £50 today.
Woo hoo! This is half of the profit from my ebay selling. Payments came through immediately which was great and I have confirmation that the goods arrived. The rest of the money will stay in my bank.
In other news, I went to the cash machine yesterday to draw out money and it chugged and rattled, gave me back my card but didn't spit out any cash. Checked my bank today and the money has been charged. I rang the number on the machine today but there is nobody in until Monday. My bank said to wait and they will raise an ATM dispute if necessary. I hope it isn't and the money comes back in when the cash machine is balanced up.
I have been potting a little here and there as well, when I have change so still managing to keep up with the challenge. It will be great when we open up our pots. I'm excited already!

Well I'm pleased to say that I haven't had any Dr Pepper since Thursday late-afternoon....Still feeling a bit headachy but if that's what it was doing to me then it will be good when it gets out of my System.
Went to the Gym on Friday and I was really awkward in the Cafe....Asked them for a Chicken Caesar Salad but with no Croutons and no Cheese and the Dressing on the Side...LoL...but she made it with no problems and it was delicious!! And washed it all down with a Diet Coke and a Banana....YUM YUM!!
I'm not cutting out treats altogether but rather than having a large packet of cheese and a large bag of crisps and a large bag of maltesers.....I am now having MUCH smaller treats....and making them last and really enjoying them....which I think is MUCH better AND much better for my Wallet!!
So this morning I have Potted £1.25 in change....Not bad....but that's DEFINITELY it until tomorrow night as I have nothing left in my Wallet and won't get anymore money out until tomorrow....
Hope all is well with you Lynne...I'm thinking about you and your Son...Do let us know how everything is when you get the chance xXx
Hope you are feeling MUCH better now Sue....It's good to take care of yourself first and foremost...and then you can worry about everyone else
Feeling on top of the world still....and VERY grateful for it!!
Have my Operation on Thursday...NOT looking forward to that...but I know the sooner they investigate then the sooner I will find out what is wrong....which can only be a good thing because then I can start to deal with it
Right...enough rambling from me....*Hugs* and *Love* to anyone that needs it....Chat later xXx0
