Welcome along Woodster76.
Have a look at post 1 on page 1 (if you haven't already) as it will give you lots of information, ideas and rules about the challenge.
But most of all pop along and share your potting news as little or as often as you'd like. And also have a little gossip whilst you here if you fancy it.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Evening all.
Welcome to more and more new potters. I'm well impressed with the amount of new potters joining the challenge over the last few weeks. The gang is growing and growing and that should lead to even bigger and bigger totals. Good luck with your savings.
Potted a £2 coin and a £1 coin after putting the lottery on - what a waste of £2 - not a single number!!
Ironic, but I no longer pot 50p's and 20p's and the first road-kill was a 20p. lol
I laughed at the irony though and still gratefully received.
I'm a counter as I go along and that's due to a fear of failure once I've agreed my challenge total. I like to know where I'm at.

Hi everyone, looking forward to another year of potting. Have already been putting some change in. I think I'll try to pot more £1 and £2 coins throughout next year, as they make a huge difference to the total. I hope to beat this year's total, but will be happy with anything really.SPC # 348 2014-£169.07/2015 - £156.89

Very true, Lynsey, I love it when new folk join us, it gives a lovely warm feeling somehow, good to hear others saving I suppose.Likewise with the lotto, though we did get £25 last week so mustn't grumble.

Well after deciding not to go shopping today....
I came up with the idea of a separate tin for any notes that need to be potted for not buying lunch and taking it in to work - this worked quite well for SPC 7 so I have decided to be determined to continue and do the same for SPC 8. So my plan is to pot £fiver a day and make my own lunch
Whilst out for said pot I thought about a MaccyD for lunch and all at the same time decided to pot the £5er that it would have cost me and make a sandwich on returning home, also saving me the indigestion that I had the last time I had one (it really wasn't very nice)

I've joined first direct and should be getting £100 soon for switching one of my accounts - is it acceptable to pot that?
It would boost up the 0.21p I have so far - although I have decided to swap the 20p coin for copper as it will sound better! I've not got a sealed tin yet.
I have some cash back money in one of my accounts that I haven't allocated anywhere yet even though some goes back to before this challenge, should I still add it? Usually I just add it to the next month's housekeeping money.

Ok I already have pots sort of started but I've never done the challenge before so I hope this is ok - i have £££ shop tin where I put £2 coins - this is still quite light but I've got no idea how much is in there, we were saving towards the solicitor fees for when we sell our house next year so will just leave that as it is and continue to add to it. I've got a coffee jar with copper and 5p's in (all the decent coins get used for bus fare/car parking. Thinking of getting a £££ shop tin for my 5 ps and any other sneaky silver I can put in and keep the coffee jar for the copper. Does anyone change there copper into silver or £ to add to another pot? We always have tons of the stuff!Living the simple life0

Oh and where does everyone get the money bags from to take to the bank? can you still just go in and ask for them?Living the simple life0

Well I've got £50 of the money owed ready to go into my pot but it's in notes so I need to change it or it will be a so and so to get back out of the terramundi
My dad had to pick DD up from school on Friday as she had some spots on her back and 'it might be chicken pox' I rang and said 'if it is chicken pox, she's now had them 8 frig'ing times! Which I don't think is actually possible'. Dad went down there and her teacher said she had to send DD home as I might be lying about her having had them  I mean really? I'd just randomly lie about that? Plus every other time it was thought she had had chicken pox, only once was it before she started at the school!
She's just got a little cluster of spots on her back that seem to keep re-occurring and we have no idea why, she's def had chicken pox and had at least one other strain of pox as well! Think I'm taking her to the docs and insisting they find out what it is as they could send her home every time they come up at this rate!SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000
