Well Rosyq, in the long run the soup mugs will save you money on your lunches so I think you were right to pot the full £8. The extra £2 is a bonus!

Not a lot going on here. My ebay sales went very well. Only one item didn't sell and it had a few watchers so I have relisted at a slightly reduced price. It was free to relist so nothing lost there. I'm going to wait for a few days after the parcels have been delivered, then knock off the ebay fees, the postage costs and split the takings between my bank and the pot. I reckon it will be over £50 to go in the pot. :D

Didn't go to run club last night, I was too late home from work. I still went for a run with DH though and potted the £2 I would have spent.

Managed to bag one of the 2-month Tastecards from the weekly email. :T There are quite a few local restaurants who accept it so hopefully we'll get one or two cut-price meals out of it. That will mean more for the pot.

Potted a few £ over the weekend but nothing much of note.

Well done on the profit from the dress cattysmum very enterprising of you. Dragon's Den here you come. ;)

Saver-upper are you any closer to getting the bedrooms organised? It must be a nightmare having the stuff all over the place. I hope you can see carpet soon. :)

    Hi All,

OH has been leaving his change on the table in the kitchen and on the stairs when he comes in, he usually just leaves it there. So Ive created him a holding pot. If he doesn't claim it in 3 days it goes in my sealed pot. (I do share it with him at the end of the year!)

    He hasnt noticed yet hehe!

A nice £10 in mine today thanks to some cash backs, along with £2 that I got from the sale of a couple of items i got fed up of looking at :)

Keep potting my lovelies! Speak soon. x

Good afternoon everyone! Hoping you're all ok and potting like fury!! If not, then do try to do so as often as you possibly can as it makes a huge difference to what you're able to spend or save in November. For those of you new to savings, I'll warn you that declaration day is something akin to Christmas from September on; the excitement is fever pitch and sooooooo exhilarating!!!! As I said, pot like FURY!!!!!! :j

I am afraid I dropped of the potting wagon slightly and pulled £60 in notes out, as we are getting married in September and I decided to use the notes towards paying for some things. I am however going to be carrying on potting change and after September will resume potting notes until the opening date!

Not to worry, newthrift, I think we're all able to sympathise with you needing money when you're looking ahead to such a BIG DAY!!!! Meanwhile concentrate on the Wedding whilst potting all the little stuff possible! As Lynne says don't forget to pop the amount you've taken onto your siggy as - you've saved it anyway so you must include it!!! :D

Very good, WantToBeSE, and far better saved than squandered! ;)

Ok then, tizzi, here's to some good luck for Wednesday! :j

Saving every week is plenty good enough, Woodster, be happy with it.

All the best for a perfect week, 32b3, whenever that is!! :rotfl:

We've had so many members elated when having an LBM, the.new.me, it's good to hear you're another who's added to the list of confirmed savers!!!!

Really struggling to put anything in the pot for this month as for a start I am using cards which means that I don't have any change to throw in the pot.

And the month is SO long with limited money available to do all I want. Went a bit mad over putting money into my savings account and it has left me a bit short for this month - stupid girl.....

Anyhow Friday week is pay day - will be eternally grateful.

Please, Magsnoodle, don't think of yourself as stupid for doing what you thought was best, we can all only do that whether it turns out right or not, and it's best to try than not!! ;) Do the best you can!

Well done on keeping a look out, Vicky! At least it's not lonely anymore.
Not been around for last few days as we had a tough weekend. It was my mums 60th birthday yesterday, and it was extremely hard without dad. We got though it and we got mum out for a meal on Saturday which was as nice as could be.

Anyway I'm going to pot £5 when I go upstairs, it's left over from my weekly spending money.

Oh dear, you have indeed had it tough, ETO, a very tough 3 months or so too. :( However, you made the best of your Mum's Birthday and she will be grateful for that, and no doubt your dear Dad wasn't far away. :A Believe it or not, all these events are those that slowly help in the grieving process, even if we aren't aware of it at the time. :) Excellent potting with that £5er!!!

Keep looking ahead to March through this cold spell, Lynne, though I'm sure you do. :D Quite seriously I'm sure too much cold and heat make a difference to how we cope, a darn shame we can't put it on auto!! :rotfl:

You're doing a grand job of potting, cattysmum, and becoming a very canny saver! Good to hear you're making the most of your holding pot too. :T
Was unable to go to a temp job today due to the bus strike, no other way to get there so am not happy at losing the pay. Am hoping for other temp work this week.

What a rotten shame, Kerry, that really is maddening!!! All best wishes with other temping to help you through the week. What a good job you save so marvellously! :T

Do as you're doing, Helen, and stay strong and happy. Good to hear you're able to work from home AND save money on a lunch. However, why not take your own lunch everyday and save ALL that you normally spend on lunches out?!!!! It would make a huge difference! :j The appointment will be made for the day that's "best for you", be patient til then and have faith! :grinheart

Brilliant news of your first £10er potted, Rosy!!! Excellent saving!! :T

Great news about the !bay sales, chickadee, and wishing you luck with the Tastecards.

A fantastic idea with DH, LeaLea, may he never remember the money he puts down!!!!!

Save well, Potters! You'll never regret it, and it's a bit like doing excercise....you never get to the end and say "I wish I'd never done it!" ;)

Enjoy the rest of your day/evening, folk! Keep warm all those ooop North & Scotland!!!

    Sue x

  • No pottaging from me today as I have had an NSD therefore no change. Might go and buy something with a random price tomorrow just so I have some change to pot.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Evening all and the temperature's dropping here!!

Lost of NSD's - well done.
Hope Sue doesn't put you all on the "naughty step" though for not potting. lol
Seriously though, the less you are spending, the more you can pot later. LSD's (low spend days) are my plans at the moment, just picking up what's needed along with a few reduced bargains - frugal living at the minute.

Just a single £2 coin potted and a possible lean week. Nice to see what others are potting though.

  • started again, sort of.

I did have the money in a tin, but I much prefer being able to see it. I have an enormous plastic pink see through tea pot that I got from a charity shop (I like buying random containers!) so now the notes and coins are all at home in there :D

I feel so much better now :D
