I agree in part, but it is an utterly ridiculous thread....
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

That's the point though isn't it, help to those who need it.

You know what? - irrespective of the rights and/or wrongs of the OP's perceived gripe, looking at the responses upthread just reconfirms my reasoning why I don't bother much with MSE forums nowadays.

The usual nasty responses, the inevitable members of the grammar police, very childish comments and the general mocking removes any credibility from these forums.

There are some great contributors to these boards who offer great help and support to those who need it - unfortunately they are seemingly conspicuous by their absence on this thread.

    Grow up!
Some people attract it though due to the ridiculous nonsense they post on here. If they or you don't like it then you are free to ignore it and move on to the next post. There is also an ignore button so you can block all posts by any user you choose. And then of course there is the report button if you feel any post has overstepped the mark.

In this case the OP made a complete fool of themselves with their ridiculous rant. I actually feel sorry for the Asda staff who had to deal with him. Why shouldn't I have my say if I don't agree with what someone posts?!

Did I imply that someone should not have an opinion on a post?

    No I didn't.

My point was that many of the respondents to a new poster were unhelpful at best and downright puerile.

These forums are no different from others and will invariably attract trolls, but for whatever reason, MSE seems to have more than its fair share of posters who contribute very little other than vitriol and insults.

It also has more than its fair share of ridiculous nonsense posted by people that probably shouldn't be allowed on the internet unsupervised - the OP of this thread being one of them.
  • Maybe you "should" put the beefs "on" a different "checkout"

I note that the OP has not come back to name the charity which was to benefit from his meat-based anger.

After the load of vitriol and ridicule targeted at the OP - who can blame him/her?
