Gosh, 31 pages already and I've barely contributed anything so far this year!

Declared £300 for January which really doesn't do the month justice. Spent the best part of £2,000 on wedding related items and spent the rest of the month frantically selling on eBay to recoup the money for my savings! Did it + £300 of new savings to be able to add to the pot.

Will be starting to book hotels for honeymoon at the end of this month, so I can already foresee the next 2-3 months being low figures. The real aim though is to get through the wedding without hurting the savings pot too much and then topping it up to £20k afterwards. Hence my lower target this year than previous.

Sorry to hear about the job lalman, hopefully you'll get something very soon.

And a big congratulations to slowlyfading, exciting news :)

Haha not at all! I haven't updated your total fully, as I'm going to wait til the end of the month to do a monthly update :)

    That's great. :)

I should clarify I have my own spreadsheet I update whenever I put any cash away, that one I am particularly transfixed by the moment. :o
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

I'm v commercial focused and my technical skills have room for improvement so might just take time to find the right role...

    :-)

Before moving on to the commercial side of my business, i used to be the FD... Can't count the number of technical people are available on the market, but also cannot tell you how difficult it is to find commercial minded finance person... So I'd actually say you stand even better chances

Might have a couple of other bits and pieces before payday but I'm going to overpay my mortgage with that.
