  • Some of you guys are doing brilliant, especially now thats the worst month of the year out the way!!! Iv made about £700 ebay sales/2 car boots so i am using that to pay household bills for this month and if i do manage to make anything over the debt payments it will be saved....so fingers crossed the weather picks up!!!

  • I'd like to declare £81.97 for January, 2015.

Not quite as much as I'd hoped, but it's a good start. (I'm number 149 in this challenge).
  • Well as part of the bigger saving plan I finally have my new Santander current account setup and have moved my savings to my 123 account, with the debit card hidden away at home.

Now I have to work out how I'm going to track my savings on a monthly basis :-) But safe in the knowledge it's earning 3% interest rather than the <1% it was before!
  • Yipee, baby SF is on its way . Hearty congrats to you and hubby. Baby SF will learn to populate spreadsheets in no time :D:D:D:D:D!

  • Oh my goodness. I had this year all planned out and challenges in place and then everything got tipped upside down - we were looking at buying but being self employed kept getting brushed off with regards to a mortgage on Monday I was told we did not meet affordability on Wednesday a local housing association offered us an affordable property to rent - brand new build, gorgeous village location... Thursday we viewed it and next week we get the keys.

So now have to fund carpets and appliances although last months Saving is not being touched I am pretty sure reaching my £12k Target has become a lot tougher although I am still determined!

This is our first place together so officially flying the nest and over whelmed by it all but very excited and will now be even more of a bargain hunter and money saver. Hoping to check in a few weeks from now with some money to put away.. ANYTHING this month would be a huge bonus for me now :D

Late declaration (it seems to be a bit of a habit now, sorry about that but in my defence I have been away in Australia) of a further £625 for January, which together with the £250 I had already saved brings the total for the month to £875.

PS Slowlyfading, congratulations! You must be very happy. :)

Off to a good start. Transferred over £300 today and forecast another £600 by months end.

6 Nations starts today so a few weekends out to look forward to this month!
