On the 18th December, I declared £2,000 for December, making me £604.58 short of my £15,000 total.
However, I'm going to be closer than I thought, as my husband is giving me his winter fuel allowance (I pay the bills), so until we need it, it's going into savings, Extra Energy refunded my overpayment and added a "sweetener", and I got a £50 rebate on a lappy bought for my husband, so that's a total of £2,349 for December, so I'm only £255 and some pence short, not too shabby! That's a good start on my ISA for 2016. I think I may have omitted to use the update form on Friday, so I'm off to do it now. Many thanks Slowlyfading...“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. I am declaring £1167.73 for December brining me to a grand total of £8025.63 for the year! Considering I started around 6 months ago, I am pretty proud of that!
Thank you so much Slowlyfading for keeping the whole thing together, I'm looking forward to getting started on next years!

Well, A feeble £400 this month, bringing my total to £6,500, less than my original target of £10,000. Actually, I'm looking at £50,000 in 5 years, so hope to pull it back next year.
It has been an expensive year with stuff to the house I decided not to defer, and with expensive dental surgery - I've spent £8,500 on these. So next year I need to save £14,000 to make up for it - a bit of a challenge.
Thanks SF for all your work, and to everyone else for all the motivation and interesting posts. See you all on the new thread I hope!Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

This is my first post! I am going travelling for a year and a half in June and have saved £3500 in six months based just on wages and overtime. Would like to save a further £4000 in the next six months and would appreciate any tips on how I can improve my savings (complete newbie) and also maximise my income0
