I'm declaring £350 for August which came from my tax rebate (the cheque finally cleared today). This takes me above this years target by just over £100. The rest of the money is going into my rainy day fund - I have a couple of crowns to pay for some time soon as well as other longer term saving to be spent goals!
I've also got a new job which I start just over half way through September. It's lower pay but is in my home town so I'll no longer have 125 miles to commute each week and any travel costs will be paid back as a work expense (I'll make a profit from this as my car is tiny, and the monthly mileage is likely to be a lot lower than my current monthly mileage) so this will help toward making up for the lower income. Fingers crossed my first pay cheque won't make me want to cry lol! I have to remember that the new job has better opportunities for progression and development as well as many other things which convinced me to change jobs!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

Another zero in this month, as I am having a new shower fitted. I'll be clean but broke!
I've spent about 5 grand over the last couple of months on things that needed renewing round the house and on dentistry. So I haven't gone bonkers wasting money on trivial things but I am still feeling guilty.
What's worse though, is the feeling the shackles are off and I could just carry on spending and spending, and not on useful things. Next month I will really knuckle down again, as I go want to hit my amended target by the end of the year.
Well done all you people who are still on the straight and narrow, you are an inspiration to me!Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

How have you found Kent Reliance? I was considering opening a regular saver account with them also.
I have found Kent Reliance ok. This is my second regular saver that I have had with them. You get a passbook which they write in. I have set up a standing order so that the money get transferred straight away.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

I write in my own book, although its the temporary one they gave me when i opened it, may go in and ask about a proper book when I'm next passing, shame like the others its only for 12 months, but its a average interest rate and i like that you can make up any difference from the previous month, and make more then one payment in a month...

I just wrote a post and it's vanished, very annoying!
Declaring at £1083.04 which is a tenner short of what I'd calculated it at so not sure how that happened.
Next month will be lower as we've got a wedding to go to among other things, but fingers crossed still on target. Though saying that, first bonus payment should hopefully be in sometime in September, though I don't think it will be as much as I'd hoped. Will have to wait and see.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend x

Still waiting to declare as OH does not get paid until this Thursday and I get paid tomorrow
It is difficult to know what our salaries will be exactly, mine is the same every month but OH includes lots of overtime payments, stand by payments and fuel costs for company car so erratic. Going by the usual minimum salary for OH I think I should be able to add a further £250 to the savings already made for this month to reach my £1k target for August. Will wait and see though.
I am taking our £500 holiday money though from our cash reserve so that drops our overall savings amount sadly. Hope everyone else is meeting their target. Due to the bad news on the stock markets I am refusing to look at my Stocks and Shares ISA as any losses come up in big red numbers which is quite dispiriting. On the plus side though my monthly payment will have bought more units in my Vanguard LS 60 fund this month due to reduction in cost priceI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
