My April update!
I saved £904 in April, which brings my year to date total to £1,152 and my overall total to £85,991. I'm going soooo slowly this year, but I'm hoping for more progress in the next few months!

Reporting £2148.91 for April, which takes me just past the £11k mark for the first four months of the year - happy with to get above £2k in a surprisingly difficult month, would have been better still but the car failed its MOT which put an unexpected £300 dent in things
Well done to all, keep saving0 -
Had an awful month; but I expected it after last months expenses so I'm actually happy that I managed to save the grand total of £15.85 this month. Which is still a positive number and means I'm still just above the where I should be for my target.
To make things worse I've just had a very bad week; I spent last week working from my girlfriend's flat whilst she was recovering from laser eye surgery; got back to my flat last Sunday to find I had no gas.
To cut a long story short National gas had come round to install a pre-pay meter on a meter belonging to a different flat; which unbeknownst to me and eon was my meter. It took until Tuesday to discover this; and at which point I was getting extremely frustrated due to lack of hot water and hob.
Even more frustratingly I've been paying for the wrong meter since I've been in my current flat which is coming up for almost 3 years; if I'm lucky I've overpaid during this time and might get some money back but knowing my luck I'll owe them money.
I hope everyone else is having a better month; here's to a good May.# 047 'Save 12K in 2019' - £6,346.86 / £12,000 55.89%# 074 'Save 12K in 2015' - £4,379.25 / £4,000 109.48%0 -

I have been saving 65% of my net salary for the last 6 years - that's how I have build up a cash pile + 2 btl flats.
I am not saying it has been easy, and I have been sacrificing by doing things others wouldn't be willing to do like living with parents, not going on that many holidays and pretty much living like a student but on a qualified jobs wage.
Remember that you only live once... The young years are the best, you dont want to regret having been too frugal.
There isnt much you can do in retirement by having saved 65% that you cannot do if you have saved "only" 50% and enjoyed the ride along the way...Total Debt

Happy May everyone!
Some exciting news here:
DH and I have been saving for a house deposit and were planning to start looking pretty soon but weren't in any real rush, then at the start of April our landlord told us he's selling our house! Not wanting to end up in another 6 or 12 month AST we started looking for somewhere to buy and within two weeks found somewhere and had an offer accepted!
So we'll soon be spending all our savings on that *gulp*. We're probably still a few months off completion but I'm going to have to reassess savings after we have the mortgage in place so may drop off this thread for a while.
Anyways, update for this month:
#51 declaring £1101 for April (it was a bit more but we've already spent some money on conveyancing!)
